I recently visited Dr. Yovanka Torrente, a talented orthotist and prosthetist based in Bedfordview, and I’m thrilled to share my experience! After struggling with flat feet, swollen ankles, and constant pain, I decided it was time to seek help, and I’m so grateful I did.
Dr. Torrente works her magic by crafting custom foam inserts that fit perfectly into my shoes. She carefully tailored these inserts to the shape of my footwear, creating an arch that I desperately needed. This is especially important as my flat feet caused a lot of discomfort, particularly by the end of the day.
As I handed over some of my favorite shoes and sandals for this special treatment, I learned that she also ordered a pair of comfort slippers for me from America. Although these slippers are not the most fashionable, they are designed to support my feet while I’m home, which is incredibly exciting! After waiting for a bit due to the holiday rush, I anticipate receiving my slippers soon, and I can’t wait to see how they help.
The best part? My medical aid, Discovery Medical Aid, covered the entire cost of this treatment! That means I submitted three pairs of shoes for the inserts and my new slippers without having to pay a single cent out of pocket. Dr. Torrente is dedicated to helping her patients navigate the medical aid process and claims, which meant so much to me.
