Trust Your Underground Season ❤️

Currently, I AM A SEED UNDERGROUND

Not every season of growth is visible.
Sometimes, you are doing the work, showing up, learning, unlearning, rebuilding and stretching beyond what you thought possible, yet from the outside, it looks like nothing is happening.

This is me right now, I am learning that growing upward requires growing downward, too. Before the world sees the branches, there must be roots. Before the harvest, there must be preparation. Before expansion, there must be a foundation strong enough to sustain it.

Perhaps you are a seed underground right now. Please, do not rush your season or compare your journey to someone else's harvest.

Do not mistake the absence of visible progress for the absence of growth. 🌿

Today, I invite you to honour the season you are in. Keep tending to your roots. Keep becoming. Your growth does not need an audience to be real.

Happy Heritage Day 2026 🇿🇦🌿

Today we celebrate Heritage Day under the national theme:

“Celebrating Our Living Heritage: Strengthening the Ties That Bind Us.”

But what exactly do we mean when we say heritage?

Our heritage is not only found in monuments, museums or the things we can see.

It lives in our languages, stories, names, rituals, beliefs, healing practices, music, crafts, family traditions and the knowledge carried from one generation to another. South Africa’s Department of Sport, Arts and Culture describes living heritage as something dynamic and actively transmitted through communities.

The history of 24 September also reminds us that our national Heritage Day emerged from a conversation around Shaka Day and how South Africa could recognise diverse cultural heritage within a shared national day. The first post-apartheid Heritage Day was celebrated on 24 September 1995.

So today, I want us to go beyond simply celebrating our heritage.

Let us remember it.
Let us understand it.
Let us live it.
And let us consciously decide what we carry forward.

The Basotho Calendar 🇱🇸📅

For the past 5 years, I have consciously started observing the Basotho Calendar.

My journey actually began much earlier.

In 2009, I discovered that the version of our calendar taught in school was incorrect. From there, I began studying life through a Basotho lens.

And only in 2020, during COVID, did I really see how, over the years, my life was already aligning with the Calendar.

Stories for days to come. ❤️

But in today's lesson, I came simply to share what the Basotho Calendar looks like and why.

🌙 It is a 13-month Lunar Year.
