✨️The first question we often get from our patients is, “How long until I’m back to normal?” or " Can i go for a run later?". Naturally, we want to return to full capacity as soon as possible. The difficult part is that each phase can vary depending on the tissue involved and factors like age, lifestyle, injury severity, and the specific structure affected.
📢 We need to understand how tissue heals and avoid the factors that slow the process down. Progressing from the inflammatory to the maturation phase begins with a short period of protection, followed by early mobilization, then optimal loading to safely return to full function.
✨️It’s common to use pain as a guide for tissue health, but pain often decreases well before healing is complete.
Returning to training takes more than just tissue healing. It takes rebuilding capacity, restoring function, and the right rehab & reconditioning strategies to regain confidence in movement. There are so many factors that go into recovery, but a good understanding of tissue healing timelines is definitely a good place to start!
