π± Many years ago, I learned one of the most valuable lessons of my life π±
The human state of feeling loved, cared for, valued, appreciated, and able to grow and flourish in any relationship (romantic, friendship, professional) - is like a bank account. Both sides make "withdrawals" from one another - but they both need to make deposits as well, to ensure that each bank account is kept full and healthy.
Think about it more literally...
π If you have a bank account and you keep on withdrawing money from it, without making any deposits, what's going to happen?
The account will run dry and empty, and there will be nothing left for the account to give to you. It will close.
The same thing applies to a relationship. If you keep on making "withdrawals" from the other person's bank account - of support, care, love, an ear to listen to your problems, gentle nurturing, etc, and give nothing back - that relationship will run dry. It will close; and you will lose that friend, colleague or partner.
π But if you ensure that you intentionally and mindfully make "deposits" of support, care, love, an ear to listen to their problems, gentle nurturing, etc - that bank account will remain full, and will be able to continue giving to you.
In fact, a healthy bank account will grow and bear interest too! The more you give - with love, kindness, intention and authenticity - the more you get.
π So give a little more than you take in whichever relationships are meaningful to you, and that you want to nurture π Then watch how they grow and bloom π·π·π·π·π·π·
