An X-ray is not just a picture — positioning matters.
The angle of the image, the body part being examined and the way you are positioned all help the radiographer capture the views requested by your referring healthcare provider.
That is why you may be asked to stand, sit, lie down or turn slightly during the examination.
Small changes in position can make a big difference to the information captured.
Follow the radiographer’s instructions and ask questions if anything is unclear.
