ESSA TRAINING WORKSHOPS, 15 October - UPDATES! 🚨

We have opened online attendance. Several of you asked for a way to take part without travelling to Johannesburg, and we are glad to offer it. You can now join the full day live from wherever you are!

In-person seats are nearly full. Only a few remain, so if you would like to be in the room at the Indaba Hotel, please register soon.

The day brings together the regulators who shape and enforce the Ergonomics Regulations and the specialists who apply them:

🔵Workshop 1: The Ergonomics Legal Landscape (08:30 to 11:30)
Session 1: The Ergonomics Legal Landscape: What Must a Competent Person Know?
🎙️Bulelwa Huna, Department of Employment and Labour
Includes a short assessment, so you leave with a certificate of completion.

Session 2: What Does the Department of Employment and Labour Look For During an Ergonomics Inspection?
🎙️Warren Mallon, Department of Employment and Labour

🔵Workshop 2: Ergonomics Risk Management in Practice (12:00 to 15:00)
Session 1: What Makes an Ergonomics Risk Assessment Legally Defensible? A practical case study.
🎙️Sethunya Matsie, Railway Safety Regulator

Session 2: Where Ergonomics Meets Occupational Health: Risk-based Screening of Ergonomics Risk Exposures
🎙️Dr Moyagabo Setlhakgoe, MoyReg

CPD and confirmation of attendance
You leave with verified CPD points from ESSA, SAIOH and SAIOSH, and a certificate of completion tied to the competent person requirement for familiarity with the ergonomics-related legislation. If you are online, you only qualify if you attend 80% of the workshop and join the virtual session as a participant with your name clearly stated.

🎟️Tickets
Online and in-person tickets are the same price. Wherever you join from, you attend the same live sessions, put your questions to the same speakers, complete the same assessment, and earn the same CPD points and certificate. The value of the day does not change with where you join.

💰Attend both workshops for one price:
• ESSA Regular Members: R1200
• ESSA Student Members: R600
• SAIOH, SAIOSH, SASOHN Members: R1800
• Non-ESSA Members: R2000 (includes ESSA membership valid for 12 months from date of registration)

If you can join us in person, we would love to have you there while seats last. If you cannot, the online option gives you the same programme from wherever you are.
