CARE C.A.R.E a Registered Independent School for learners presenting with features of Autistic Spectrum

Our programme comprises of a specialised pre-school curriculum with strong emphasis on pre-requisite learning skills and a Centre of Focused Learning curriculum which is adapted from the National Curriculum additionally the curriculum takes a skills-based approach to enable learners to function optimally in their every day environments. Intensive Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Therapy and Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) are offered at the different developmental levels.

𝐂.𝐀.𝐑.𝐄. 𝐒𝐬 𝐚 π₯𝐒𝐟𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫.

Mehul was diagnosed at 18 months with classic autism. He was non-verbal. He had regressed into his own world.

His family found CARE.
Speech therapy. OT. Sensory integration. A dedicated team who saw him. Not his diagnosis. Him.

Today Mehul is an artist. A competition winner. A boy his mother describes as amazing, friendly, happy and well-adjusted. That did not happen by accident. That happened because his family acted early. And because CARE was there when they did.

This newspaper clipping is from 2017. The story started in 2011. The same year CARE opened its doors.
Mehul was one of the first. He will not be the last.

Fifteen years later we are still here. Still opening doors. Still watching kids prove everyone wrong.

In 2011 Rozanna Hofmann opened a door in Orange Grove.
Behind it was a therapy room. A dream. And a belief that autistic kids deserve more than a waiting list.

Fifteen years later that door is still open.
Two campuses. A Junior School. A Senior School. A brand new Remedial School.

Hundreds of children who found their place.
Thousands of parents who found their breath.
One sentence that never changed. Different. Not less.
Today we celebrate. Tomorrow we keep going.

She smiled at school all day.
Then she fell apart at home.
This is called masking.

Many autistic children work incredibly hard to fit in. They copy, adjust, hold it together and push through discomfort so they do not stand out.

By the time they get home, the effort of pretending becomes too much. The nervous system finally releases what it has been holding in all day.

What looks like a sudden meltdown is often the result of hours of quiet effort.
Masking can hide children who need support, especially girls.

If this is your evening, you are not alone.
