What if one of the best things you could do for tomorrow… starts tonight? 🌙

We’ve been working on the habits that help us build a healthier lifestyle — what we eat, hydration, movement, gut health and even making time to slow down.

Sleep belongs in that conversation too.

Because when we don’t sleep well, it can become harder to make the choices we intended to make the next day. We reach for the quick fix, movement feels like more effort and sometimes we’re simply trying to get through the day.

And while coffee or an energy drink may make us feel more alert, awake isn’t the same as properly rested.

So this week, give your sleep the same attention you give your other healthy habits.

🌙 Give yourself a bedtime
⏰ Try to keep it consistent
📱 Reduce screens at least 30 minutes before bed
🛏️ Create a simple routine that helps you wind down

Then notice what happens.

Did you sleep better? How did the next day feel?

If you can, keep a simple record for the week. Sometimes we don’t realise the difference a small change is making until we actually stop and notice it.

Restorative sleep isn’t a luxury — it’s an investment in your health. 🤍

How often do you make time for yourself?

Self-care isn't selfish—it's one of the simplest habits for managing everyday stress.

When we never take time to recharge, stress doesn't simply disappear.

It builds.

We become more tired, more irritable, and healthy habits become harder to maintain.

This week, make one appointment with yourself.

🗓️ 30 minutes.
❌ No emails.
❌ No chores.
❌ No doomscrolling.
❌ No errands.

Just do something that helps you slow down and recharge.

💡 One simple idea: Silence your phone from late afternoon until the next morning. You may be surprised how much calmer your evening feels.

Movement doesn’t have to mean an hour in the gym.

It can be a walk, a short run, a beginner workout at home, or using whatever you already have.

And if you’ve got old exercise equipment gathering dust in the garage, consider this your sign to dust it off and use it.

The important part is making movement part of your week instead of waiting for the perfect time.

Regular movement helps support your strength, balance and mobility, so it isn’t only about how you look now.

It’s also about staying capable and independent as you get older.

This week’s challenge:

Complete three 15-minute movement sessions.

Put them in your diary, choose what you’re going to do, and make the time.

💧 HAS WINTER SLOWED YOU DOWN?

In winter, we often drink more coffee, eat more comfort food, move less and forget about water.

The problem is that feeling less thirsty does not mean our bodies need less hydration.

Water supports concentration, circulation, digestion, kidney function and efficient movement.

When we are not drinking enough, we may notice brain fog, headaches, low energy or sluggish digestion.

One habit our family has started is making our drinks work for us with:

☕ Hot water
🌿 Chicory coffee
🍵 Herbal tonics and teas
🥣 Homemade broths and wholesome soups

This week’s hydration challenge is simple:

💧 Start your morning with hot water before coffee.
💧 Have another glass around lunchtime.
💧 Add one more glass during the afternoon.

For extra mineral or electrolyte support, we sometimes include Mineralife RePlenish or Wazoogles SaltWTR.

Do not wait until you feel thirsty.

Put water first and give your body what it needs to function at its best.

📍Has winter affected how much water you drink?

💩 LET’S TALK ABOUT POO

When was the last time you actually looked before flushing?

Your poo can give useful clues about how well your digestive system is working.

Healthy poo is usually easy to pass, soft but formed, sausage-shaped and medium to dark brown.

Changes in shape, colour, smell or consistency may simply mean your body needs more water, fibre, movement or a more consistent routine.

The important thing is to start noticing.

Gut health is not only about what goes in.

It is also about what comes out.

So this week, become a gut detective:

💧 Drink enough water
🥗 Include fibre-rich foods
🚶 Move every day
👀 Notice how often you go
🔍 Check the shape, colour and consistency
✅ Notice whether you feel comfortably emptied

Your body is constantly giving feedback.

The more you pay attention, the easier it becomes to recognise what it may need.

Do you ever look before you flush? 👈

💚 YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH FOOD

Have I changed... or has my relationship with food changed?

This week's habit isn't about dieting or cutting foods out.

It's about becoming more aware of why we eat.

So often we're not physically hungry.

We're tired.
Stressed.
Bored.
Looking for comfort... and food has become the answer.

I've started asking myself one simple question before reaching for something to eat:

"What is my body actually asking for?"

Sometimes the answer is food.
Sometimes it's water, rest, movement, connection... or simply a moment to pause.

Changing our relationship with food doesn't happen overnight, but becoming aware of it is a powerful first step.

✨ Have you ever caught yourself eating when you weren't actually hungry?

I'd love to hear your thoughts below.

💚 LIQUID MONDAY

One of the habits we've introduced in our family is Liquid Monday.

We already eat healthily throughout the week, so this isn't about fixing a bad weekend.

It's simply one day where we keep meals lighter, increase our fluids and give our gut a little extra support.

Our Liquid Monday usually includes:

🥤 Smoothies
🍏 Fresh juices
🥣 Nourishing soups
💧 Plenty of water

I find it especially helpful when my digestion feels sluggish, around my menstrual cycle, after travelling, or after eating something that didn't agree with me.

To support my gut, I also include:

🌿 Gut Refresh – supports healthy bowel regularity.

🍊 Waist Away – antioxidant support.

☕ Ancient Roots Chicory Drink – a prebiotic coffee alternative that nourishes beneficial gut bacteria.

🍑 SaltWTR Summer Peach Gut Support – electrolytes with probiotics and prebiotics to support hydration, the gut microbiome and healthy digestion.

Liquid Monday isn't about detoxing or deprivation.

It's simply a weekly habit that helps me stay hydrated, support healthy digestion and start the week feeling my best.

Monday works for us, but you can choose any day that fits your lifestyle.

✨ Could a weekly liquid day become one of your healthy habits?

One of the habits that makes healthy eating so much easier for our family is simple: I plan before I spend.

Before the groceries arrive, I’ve already planned our meals, written a list and decided what we actually need.

That means fewer impulse buys, less food going to waste and no last-minute panic about what to cook.

Planning also gives me the chance to choose healthier meals, use what we already have and try new recipes instead of making the same meals every week.

Healthy living does not have to be more expensive. A little planning can help your money go further while making the week feel far less stressful.

Your challenge for the week

Plan your family’s meals, write your grocery list and only buy what’s on it.

A healthy lifestyle starts with the choices we make every single day, and so many of those choices begin right here... in the kitchen.

What we choose to put into our bodies can influence our energy, digestion, sleep and how we feel overall.

But it's not only about what goes in—it's also about what comes out.

If you're struggling with bloating, constipation, discomfort or simply not feeling your best, this is often a great place to start.

Over the next few days, I'll be sharing the foods, habits and products we've incorporated into our family's lifestyle to support a healthy digestive system, and more importantly, why we've chosen to include them.

Remember, this isn't about changing everything overnight. It's about making one small, sustainable change at a time.

A heartfelt thank you to Houdt Forge and Gran Artistry for helping us create our beautiful kitchen. 🤍

Spring is coming!

So instead of waiting until 1 September to start making healthier lifestyle changes, let’s use the next few weeks to build habits that will last.

I’ll take you along and share how our family shops, meal plans, the products we use, the recipes we love, and the habits we’ve included to help us live better.

This is not about dieting!

It’s about changing the way we think about food, sleeping better, having more energy, moving more, and doing it without breaking the bank.

We are not looking for perfection.

We are building healthy habits that can make a big difference over time.

Swipe to join the fun challenge — let’s live better together.
