What you need to know about ECTOPIC PREGNANCY.

WHAT IS ECTOPIC PREGNANCY?
Pregnancy which occurs outside the uterus (womb), usually in one of the fallopian tubes, is termed Ectopic.

It is also known as tubal pregnancy.
It may even grow in ovaries or abdomen. It happens in about 1 in every 100 pregnancies.

MANIFESTATION?
As the pregnancy grows, it causes pain and bleeding and, if not recognized, the tube can rupture, causing internal bleeding. This is a medical emergency and can be fatal.

It is not always easy to diagnose an ectopic pregnancy, as its symptoms are different in each woman.

Some women have abdominal pain, others may present minor bleeding, and there are those who have both.

WHAT TO DO?;
✅Pray
✅Have blood check-ups and ultrasound scans from the very beginning to make it is easier to detect early.

HOW TO DETECT?
Ectopic pregnancies are detected by means of a blood test and an ultrasound.

QUICK FACTS.
✅The fertilized egg can't grow correctly outside of your uterus
✅The sac holding the egg will burst, usually after about 6 to 16 weeks from when you got pregnant
✅When the sac bursts, you bleed a lot
✅The baby (fetus) doesn't survive
✅Ectopic pregnancies can cause lower belly pain and va**nal bleeding
✅If not treated, an ectopic pregnancy is life threatening
✅Sometimes symptoms start before you even know you're pregnant

To save your life, doctors do surgery or give you medicine to shrink the ectopic pregnancy.

If the sac containing the egg hasn't burst, you may not have symptoms, or you may have:
✅Bleeding or spotting from your va**na
✅Cramping or pain in your lower belly

If the sac holding the egg bursts, you may have:
✅Intense, constant pain in your lower belly
✅Severe bleeding from your va**na (birth canal)
✅Severe bleeding inside your belly (where it can't be seen)
