17 months of determination. One life-changing journey.
Sivuyile lives with his grandmother in Mbekweni, Paarl. Born with cerebral palsy, mobility has always presented challenges but Sivuyile was determined to work towards greater independence.
Using money from his SASSA grant, together with income he earned through his work as a DJ, Sivuyile paid small amounts into his wheelchair account every month. Month by month, for 17 months, he worked towards his goal until he had paid enough to purchase a basic powered wheelchair.
His commitment, patience and determination touched the team at CE Mobility. We decided to support Sivuyile’s journey by upgrading his wheelchair to a CE Pacer Power.
Today, Sivuyile can independently move around the streets of his neighbourhood, giving him greater freedom to get out, connect with his community and live life on his own terms. This is only the beginning, Sivuyile hopes to get back to his DJ work and once again share his love of music with others!
At CE Mobility, we are privileged to have played a small part in a journey that Sivuyile worked incredibly hard to make possible. Keep moving forward, Sivuyile and keep the music playing💙
