Physical Ability Testing — On Site Today

Taking Physical Ability Testing out of the practice and into the workplace.

Today’s setup is all about assessing whether an individual has the physical capacity and functional abilities required to safely perform the high physical demands of their job.

A workplace isn’t a one-size-fits-all environment — different roles place different demands on the body. A good PAT therefore looks beyond simply asking whether someone is “fit” and considers the specific physical requirements of the work.

Our assessment process can include:

🩺 Health Screening
A pre-assessment health screen to identify relevant health considerations and ensure the individual can safely participate in the testing process.

💪 Strength
Assessing the ability to generate and sustain the strength required for occupational tasks.

🏋️ Functional Capacity
Looking at how the body performs through practical, work-related movements and tasks.

⚖️ Balance & Stability
Assessing control, postural stability and the ability to maintain safe movement.

👁️ Vision
Screening visual ability where it forms part of the occupational requirements.

❤️ Overall Readiness
Bringing the different components together to provide a more complete picture of physical work capacity.

The goal isn’t simply to put a “fit” or “unfit” label on someone. It is about understanding the individual, understanding the job, identifying potential limitations and supporting safe, sustainable performance in the workplace.

An onsite assessment also means the process can be brought directly to the workforce — making occupational physical assessment practical, structured and accessible.

Healthy People. Stronger Workplaces.

🌸 HER HEALTH SERIES | WOMEN’S HEALTH MONTH

Strong bones. Strong you. 💪🦴

We often hear about calcium and bone health — but strong bones need more than calcium.

Your bones respond to the demands placed on them. Resistance and weight-bearing exercise can help maintain bone density and strength, while stronger muscles improve balance, stability and physical function.

And this isn’t just about preventing osteoporosis.

It’s about building a body that can carry you confidently through every stage of life.

Whether you’re in your 20s, 40s, going through menopause, or enjoying your later years — it’s never too early or too late to invest in your bone health.

As biokineticists, we can help you develop a safe, progressive and individualised exercise programme that considers your current strength, health, goals and stage of life.

Lift today. Protect tomorrow. 🩷

🌸 HER HEALTH SERIES | WOMEN’S HEALTH MONTH

MENOPAUSE: Your body is changing. It isn’t failing you.

Menopause is a natural stage of life — but that doesn’t mean you have to simply accept feeling weaker, more tired or less like yourself.

As oestrogen levels change, women can experience changes in muscle mass, bone health, body composition, cardiovascular health, sleep, energy and overall wellbeing.

This is where movement becomes more than exercise.

🏋️‍♀️ Strength training helps maintain muscle and support bone health.
🫀 Regular exercise supports cardiovascular health.
🚶‍♀️ Movement helps maintain mobility, function and independence.
🌿 A personalised approach can help you adapt to your changing body.

As biokineticists, our focus is not simply on weight or appearance. We look at the whole person — your health, movement, function, goals and quality of life.

Your body isn’t failing you.

It deserves a different approach. ❤️

🌸 HER HEALTH SERIES | WOMEN’S HEALTH MONTH

Pelvic health is women’s health.

Leaking when you cough, sneeze, run, jump or exercise is common — but that doesn’t mean you simply have to accept it as part of being a woman.

Your pelvic floor is an important part of your movement system. It plays a role in continence, core stability, exercise, pregnancy and postpartum recovery.

As biokineticists, we look at the whole person — not just one symptom.

Through appropriate assessment, exercise and collaboration with other healthcare professionals when needed, we can help you move with greater confidence and support your body through every stage of life.

Because your body isn’t a problem to fix.
It’s a life to support. 🩷

The women who are still figuring it all out.
