Dear me (my community) and you reading this right now.

You are allowed to grieve and still laugh until your stomach hurts.

You are allowed to carry sadness and gratitude in the very same breath.

You are allowed to struggle with your mental health and still genuinely love what you do. To wake up exhausted and still find joy in the work that sets your soul on fire.

You are allowed to ask for help. More than that, you’re allowed to let that help change you. You’re allowed to lean on people. You’re allowed to rest. You’re allowed to take up space. You’re allowed to breathe.

You are allowed to say, “I’m not okay today.”

You are allowed to admit that you’re struggling without fearing that people will see you as less capable, less faithful, less strong, or less worthy.

What if we responded to honesty with grace instead of judgment? What if we stopped rewarding people for hiding their pain and started celebrating the courage it takes to speak it out loud?

The equestrian community is something magnificently special. It is passionate, resilient, generous, and deeply devoted. But it is also intense. High-pressure. Demanding. It asks much of the people within it.

Yet, when this community chooses compassion over criticism, support over comparison, and kindness over assumption, it becomes one of the most magnificent works of art I’ve ever witnessed.

May we become that for one another.

May we check in a little more often.
May we listen a little longer.
May we hold space without trying to fix.
May we remind each other that being human was never a weakness.

You don’t have to earn the right to be cared for.

You already deserve it.

Love,

my saddle fitter is more educated than my high school teachers…
my therapist got rear-ended, adjusted her own spine, thanked Jesus, the SAPS, her chiropractor, her Lyno practitioner AND still made it to the yard on time”

Meanwhile me:
“Anyway your horse just needs a nervous system reset and probably a lactic flush.”

Also somewhere this week:
• fascia treatment happened in the back of a car
• rugby players got bodywork between road trips
• there was deep discussion about trauma stored in fascia
• and then immediately after:
“Which Navara has the best ground clearance?”

And honestly?

So who am I ?

CEO of controlled chaos at Equestrian Excellence.
BSc brain, fascia hands, and a nervous system that reads horses better than most people read texts.

I don’t “massage.” I dismantle compensation patterns, bully the diaphragm into behaving, and convince fascia to stop lying to the brain.
If your horse is falling in, drifting out, or “just being quirky”… it’s not. It’s a pattern. And I will find it.

Half my life is spent on dusty showgrounds, the other half explaining to riders that their left seat collapse is not a personality trait.

Built a business in a pandemic, scaled it across countries, and still somehow end up doing COD follow-ups like it’s a personality test.

Courses. Treatments. Taping. Cupping. Nervous system resets.
