Real talk — I don’t drink anymore.
December 2023 was my last drink. This December it’ll be 3 years.
Here’s why. I came up in rugby culture, where you drink as much as you can and nobody takes it seriously. It’s just what you do, and I was good at it.
But I started noticing something. Even two or three beers — nothing crazy — and I’d feel it the next day. The fogginess. The broken sleep. The slow recovery. Come Monday I wasn’t fully there, not for my own training and not for my clients.
That’s what got me. I want to be at my best for the people who trust me with their goals. I couldn’t do that foggy and half-recovered.
So I stopped. And I won’t lie to you — the first month was a battle. I kept asking myself if it was even worth it. But by month two, three, I started feeling it. More energy. Clearer head. Better recovery. Better training. Better everything.
I’m not telling you to quit forever. I’m telling you to try putting your performance first — even just 30 days, zero alcohol. A few of my clients are on this journey right now.
See how you feel after a month. I think it’ll surprise you.
