Many people tend to think of Yoga as complicated stretching exercises. Yet some of the most helpful of these postures, known as asanas, are not very difficult to practice. In Ananda Marga yoga classes you will learn that it only takes a little time to develop the flexibility of our joints and achieve a deep state of relaxation. Our guiding teachers are often experienced yogic monks (Sanyassis or S
wamis) who offer personal guidance and instruction in meditation, asanas, natural health and diet, etc. We also engage in a variety of wellness, natural / holistic health, community service and social action projects and initiatives. Ananda Marga (The Path of Bliss) is one of the world’s largest yoga organization with branches in over 120 countries, usually managed by full time yoga monks and nuns. It’s yoga style is known as Rajadhiraja Yoga (The King of Kings yoga). It combines many of the classical yoga systems within it such as yoga postures (asanas), meditation, devotional practices and selfless service activities (karma yoga). Our yoga activities comprise one aspect of a vast, multi-dimensional organization which places as much emphasis on social service, social action and community development as it does on personal transformation through yoga, meditation, healthy diet and holistic wellness.
