Meet Dr Jitesh Rajpaul who brings more than 10 years of specialist experience to Life Mount Edgecombe Hospital, focusing on hip and knee reconstruction, joint replacement and complex trauma.

He qualified as a specialist in 2015, holds a fellowship and masters degree, and has postgraduate experience in complex hip and knee replacement surgery. A former Head of Orthopaedic Surgery at RK Khan Hospital, he has taught and mentored at UKZN and presented as faculty, sharing his experience with fellow surgeons and trainees.

Mentorship has shaped his own career, too. Dr Rajpaul was mentored by Dr Roy Rajoo, whom he has since succeeded in practice, a meaningful connection for patients and families who have known the practice over the years.
His practice includes robotic-assisted knee replacement, while his approach to care centres on listening, explaining treatment options and making informed decisions together.

Dr Rajpaul’s group practice, together with partners Dr Keegan Naidoo and Dr Naven Naidoo, offers a comprehensive orthopaedic service encompassing spine, upper-limb and lower-limb surgery. The full spectrum of the group’s orthopaedic services, including complex upper-limb and hand surgery, is available at Life Mount Edgecombe Hospital.

KEEP YOUR SHOULDERS IN THE GAME. KEEP LIFE MOVING.

Your shoulder is one of the body’s most versatile joints built to lift, reach, throw, swing and move. But when injury puts a spanner in the works, even everyday movements can become a challenge.

Meet Dr Joseph Wessels, Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon, with expertise in upper limb and shoulder conditions, helping patients get their movement back on track.

Upper limb sports injuries – because being sidelined is never part of the game plan.
Arthroscopic shoulder surgery – using minimally invasive techniques to get to the root of the problem.
Shoulder & elbow replacements – restoring function when joints need a new lease on movement.
Shoulder stabilisation – helping keep your shoulder firmly in the game.
Rotator cuff repairs – putting strength back where it belongs.
Ligament repairs – rebuilding the support system your joints rely on.
Nerve compression release – helping ease the pressure and get movement flowing again.
Trauma & fracture management – expert care when life takes an unexpected twist.

Because when your shoulder isn’t pulling its weight, your whole body can feel it.

Don’t let pain put your life on the bench. Get the right specialist in your corner and get moving again.
