Many of us consider the Purslane plant as a w**d, but did you know that it has health benefits? 😍

Purslane is a flat growing succulent (that looks like a w**d, that is true!) that produces small yellow flowers and fleshy leaves. Both the flowers and leaves are edible (cooked or raw, depending on your taste).

Historically, purslane was ignored by many but has recently gained status because of its rich nutrient content. It contains vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, and a high omega-3 fat content. Purslane provides more omega-3s than almost any other vegetable of its kind - 8.5 mg for every gram of weight!
If you are looking for a plant that is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, especially alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and linoleic acid, then the humble Purslane is the answer!
