DIETITIANS WEEK 2026: MORE THAN JUST A JOB

Ending off Dietitians Week 2026 with some fun facts about our dietitians, Emma & Sarah.

Besides the facts that we are both qualified registered & clinical dietitians, and that we both studied at Nelson Mandela University, we have A LOT more in common too:

✨ We're both brunette with brown eyes.
✨ We both love a good cappuccino.
✨ We both enjoy reading. We read similar authors and belong to the same bookclub!
✨ We both share a special date - 28 November - Emma's birthday and Sarah's wedding day. (AND Emma's wedding date is also the 28th, of August).
✨ We both often wear our hair in low buns and often dress similar, unplanned.
✨ Both of our favourite chocolate is Lindt.
✨ We both love fresh flowers.
✨ We both enjoy a Plett weekend getaway.
✨ We both love the colour pink.
✨ We both have a fur child.
✨ We're both workaholics and perfectionists.

They say "team work makes the dream work" and we are definitely so blessed to be an amazing team!🙏🏼

SIX YEARS OLD 🎈

Today, Emma Slabbert Registered Dietitians turned 6!

Words fail me as I try to put this post together and reflect back on SIX years in private practice. From where I started to where I am now - I am so blessed and so grateful to be celebrating my practices 6th birthday.

I am filled with immense gratitude and appreciation for each and every referring doctor, allied health professional, patient, social media follower, friend & family member who continue to believe in me, trust me, support me, refer to me and encourage me to keep on doing what I'm doing. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.

SIX years of hardwork.
SIX years of dedication.
SIX years of sacrifices.
SIX years of learning.
SIX years of building relationships.
SIX years of networking.
SIX years of nutrition calculations.
SIX years of meal plans.
SIX years of ICU & critical care nutrition.
SIX years of chasing goals and dreams.
SIX years of growing my empire of which I am so damn proud of.

SIX years of which I'd not change a thing because through every high and every low, these past six years have taught me so much and I am proud of where Emma Slabbert Registered Dietitians is today!

I have truly amazing doctors as well as a community of people who are in my corner & who believe in my practice, and for THAT I am forever grateful!

In light of Nurses Week and Nurses Day 2026, we want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to all our nurses who work tirelessly day in and day out. Without YOU, the fulfillment of our jobs as clinical dietitians wouldn't be possible.

Nurses have one of the toughest jobs - emotionally, mentally, physically - and we admire your strength and courage in dealing with the sickest of patients, as well as carrying out the many orders and instructions from various multidisciplinary team members.

In the famous words of Florence Nightingale, "Nursing is an art: requiring knowledge and critical thinking, but also empathy and a genuine desire to help others."
