Today, we honour an extraordinary doctor, a trusted family physician, and a true gentleman.
After more than 40 years of dedicated service to the families of Port Elizabeth, Dr Valie Strydom is retiring.
For thousands of patients, Dr Strydom has been far more than a doctor. He has cared for generations of familiesโtreating grandparents, parents, children, and even grandchildren. His reassuring presence, meticulous attention to detail, compassionate nature, and remarkable clinical wisdom have made him one of the most respected and beloved family doctors in our community.
Dr Strydom had a rare gift: he knew his patients by name, remembered their stories, and genuinely cared about every person who walked through his consulting room. His kindness, integrity, and unwavering commitment to family medicine have left an immeasurable mark on the lives of so many.
While it is difficult to imagine KliniDoc Belmore Medical Centre without him, we are incredibly grateful for the years he devoted to serving our community with excellence, humility, and heart.
Dr Strydom, thank you for your friendship, your compassion, and for touching countless lives over four decades. Your legacy will live on in the many families whose lives you have enriched.
As one chapter comes to a close, another begins. We are pleased to assure our patients that the practice will remain in the capable and caring hands of Dr Karl Muller, Dr Marissa le Roux, and Dr Franco Matthee, who will continue the tradition of exceptional, patient-centred family healthcare that Dr Strydom has helped build.
From all of us at KliniDoc Belmore Medical Centre, we wish you a long, healthy, and joy-filled retirement. May this next chapter be filled with the same happiness and care that you have so generously given to others.
You will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and always be part of the KliniDoc family. ๐
