After 30 years of serving our wonderful community, we’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to close our doors.

Healthinista has been so much more than a shop. It has been a place of connection, conversations, learning, encouragement and, most importantly, people. We’ve had the privilege of walking alongside so many of you on your health journeys, and we are deeply grateful for every visit, every purchase, every recommendation, every message and every friendship.

Closing this chapter is bittersweet, but we leave with so much gratitude for the incredible community that made Healthinista what it was.

Before we say our final goodbye, we’d love for you to come and stock up on your favourites. Our closing-down sale is now on, with up to 40% off selected stock, while stocks last.

Thank you for trusting us and being part of our story.

Love, The Healthinistas

You won't see results if you don’t give magnesium enough time to work!

It takes at least 1 to 3 months to see results from increasing your magnesium consumption, and it’s difficult to get enough from your diet alone.

If you’re looking to supplement, magnesium glycinate is the most absorbable form. It’s gentle on the GI system, helps prevent muscle spasms, supports sleep and relaxation, and reduces stress.

Think you might be deficient in magnesium?

Many medications can deplete your magnesium levels. Other factors that can affect your ability to absorb magnesium and cause a deficiency include:

-Stress

-Sugar

-Caffeine

-Alcohol

-High insulin

-Low stomach acid

-Low salt

-Low vitamin D

To increase magnesium absorption, try drinking apple cider vinegar mixed with water to acidify your stomach. If supplementing, spreading your doses throughout the day rather than taking them all at once may also help.

In a double-blind crossover trial, twelve healthy men took a single dose of nattokinase. Within hours, their blood showed the unmistakable signature of clot breakdown.

Most people file nattokinase under "heart health" and move on. The research is more interesting than that.

In a double-blind crossover trial, twelve healthy men took a single dose of nattokinase. Within hours, measurable markers of fibrin breakdown appeared in their blood — D-dimer rose 44% by the six-hour mark, while fibrin degradation products climbed 21%.

Crucially, every value stayed within normal physiological range. Nattokinase wasn't pushing the system into dangerous territory. It was shifting a healthy fibrinolytic system toward turnover rather than accumulation.*

Why does this matter beyond cardiovascular health? Because circulation is how your body gets compounds to the liver and kidneys in the first place. Before anything can be processed and eliminated, it has to be transported there. A circulatory system that moves freely is a prerequisite for effective clearance — not an afterthought.*

Vitamin D controls mood regulation, so if you’re deficient, you could experience a range of moods in a short time.

This is due to vitamin D’s involvement in the production of serotonin, a key neurotransmitter that plays a role in emotional balance, mood regulation, and general mental well-being.

While sun exposure is a natural way to prevent vitamin D deficiency, it may not be enough to maintain optimal vitamin D stores. In that case, supplementing with vitamin D3 can be an effective way to promote healthy levels.

There’s a reason berberine is often referred to as “nature’s Ozempic!"

It's a phytochemical found in various plants that is best known for helping support healthy blood sugar levels and making insulin more sensitive.

Beyond supporting weight loss, other potential benefits of berberine include:

-It can help improve your mood.

-It's antimicrobial, antiviral, and antibacterial.

-It can help support your immune system.
