Nobody understands the weight of caregiving until they've carried it themselves.

If that's you, there's one program actually trying to change it.

It's called GUIDE, and it's run by the same agency that runs Medicare. It may give dementia and Alzheimer's caregivers $2,600+ a year in paid help, credited toward an approved provider like an in-home aide.

It exists because family caregivers have been carrying dementia care almost entirely alone, with little built directly into Medicare to support them.

If the person you're caring for has Alzheimer's or another dementia and has Original Medicare, Parts A and B, this may apply to them.
