She didn’t get one koi fish. She got a story about becoming. 🐟🔴
Look closely at the bottom right.
There’s a small black koi.
As it moves upward, it grows larger — and somewhere along that journey, it changes colour.
From black… into red.
The koi is often associated with perseverance: continuing to swim when the current is pushing in the opposite direction.
And that’s what makes this piece more than just a beautiful back tattoo.
The small koi represents where you start.
The larger koi represents what you can become.
The current doesn’t disappear.
You simply become strong enough to keep swimming.
Some people call that swimming against the tide.
Others call it going against the odds.
I call it refusing to stop. 🔥
If you had to represent your own journey with a tattoo, would yours tell the story of where you’ve been, what you’ve survived, or who you’re becoming?
