This is me 🤍
I’m Lourica — a Doula, Birth Companion, and qualified Somatologist behind Louve for You.
I became a doula because I saw how many women walk into pregnancy, labour, and postpartum feeling unsupported, unheard, and overwhelmed.

Too often, moms are expected to just “figure it out” while carrying the physical, emotional, and mental weight of it all.

I knew I wanted to be part of changing that.
For me, being a doula is not about replacing medical care
— it’s about adding presence, calm, education, and support where it matters most.

It’s about helping moms feel informed instead of fearful.
Prepared instead of pressured.
Supported instead of alone.

My work is centered around real hands-on care:
✨ Gentle Activation
✨ Calm Readiness
✨ Postpartum Healing

These are not just massages to me — they are intentional moments of support, release, preparation, and recovery.
I work mostly in my clients’ homes because care feels different when a mother can fully relax in her own safe space.

I do this because I believe birth matters.
How a woman feels during that journey matters.
And how she is cared for matters.

I’m not here to just offer a service.
I’m here to hold space.
That is why I doula. 🤍

Warm regards,
Lourica Buys

One of the questions I get asked most often is: ‘When can I have a massage after giving birth?’ 💜
The answer depends on the type of birth and how recovery is going.
🌿 Vaginal Birth:
I generally recommend waiting at least 6 weeks postpartum before booking a recovery massage, allowing the body time for initial healing and adjustment.
🌿 Caesarean Birth (C-Section):
A C-section is major abdominal surgery as well as a birth. Because of this, I recommend waiting around 6–8 weeks minimum, together with clearance from your doctor/provider before receiving postpartum massage treatments.

During those first weeks postpartum, the body is still:
• Healing internal layers and the incision site
• Adjusting hormonally
• Managing swelling, fluid retention, and fatigue
• Recovering muscularly and emotionally
• Learning feeding and newborn routines

As much as massage can be supportive, timing matters. Early recovery should focus on rest, hydration, nourishment, gentle movement, and allowing the nervous system and body to settle first 🌿

Once healed, postpartum massage can help support:
💜 Relaxation and emotional wellbeing
💜 Muscle tension from feeding and carrying baby
💜 Circulation and swelling
💜 Nervous system regulation
💜 Rest and recovery during the fourth trimester

Every mother and every birth is different, and recovery should never be rushed 💜

🌿 How to Book a Massage with Me — and Why It Matters 🌿

Hi mama 🤍
If you’re thinking about booking a massage with me, here’s what you need to know — and why it can make such a difference in your pregnancy and postpartum journey.

✨ Step 1:
Choose your support

I offer three specialised therapies:
• Calm Labor Readiness
• Gentle Birth Activation
• Postpartum Healing Massage

Each one is adapted to your stage and what your body needs most right now.

✨ Step 2:
Send your booking request Message me directly on WhatsApp or via DM to check availability. I’ll ask a few quick questions so I can understand your needs and ensure the session is appropriate and safe for you.

✨ Step 3:
Your session is fully personalised.
No two sessions are the same.
I work intuitively and clinically with your body on the day — focusing on tension release, comfort, alignment, and nervous system regulation.

🌸 Why book with me?
Because this is not a generic massage service.
I am a qualified Somatologist, which means I am trained in advanced skin and body therapy, anatomy, physiology, and holistic wellness care.

For you, this means:
🤍 A deeper understanding of your body and its changes during pregnancy and postpartum
🤍 Safe, informed techniques tailored to each stage of your journey
🤍 A treatment approach that considers both physical and nervous system response
🤍 Professional, structured bodywork — not guesswork

Combined with my doula support, you receive care that is both therapeutic and emotionally grounded.

This is intentional bodywork designed to support your body, not push it.
Whether you’re preparing for birth or recovering after it — your body deserves care that is knowledgeable, safe, and deeply supportive.

🤍 If you’re ready, I’m here to walk this journey with you.

To every mama I’ve had the honor of supporting through a cesarean birth in 2026 so far… this is for you.

Thank you for trusting me with such a sacred, vulnerable, and powerful part of your journey.
C-sections are not “the easy way out.”

They are brave.
They are intentional.
They are filled with strength, surrender, and deep love.

I have witnessed your courage in the quiet moments —

✨ The deep breaths before heading into theatre
✨ The steadying of your heart when things didn’t go as planned
✨ The way you showed up for your baby, no matter what

It is an absolute privilege to stand beside you, to hold space, to advocate, and to support you as you meet your baby in your own unique way.
Every birth matters. Every story matters.

And YOUR birth is worthy — exactly as it unfolded.
Thank you for allowing me to walk this path with you 🤍

With so much love,
Lourica

🌿 Doula Week 2026 | The Support You Didn’t Know You Needed (But Deserve) 🌿

Hi mama,

If you’re preparing for birth and feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or even a little scared… this is for you.

Because here’s the truth:

You don’t just need information.
You need the right kind of support.

🤍 When you work with me, you’re not doing this alone.

You have someone who:
• Helps you make sense of everything without overwhelm
• Supports your choices without judgement
• Stays grounded so you can stay connected to your body

🌿 This is not “just doula support.”

This is hands-on, body-based, deeply intuitive care.
With my somatology background, I don’t just guide you mentally —
I work with your body to help labour flow more smoothly.

✔️ Releasing tension that can slow labour
✔️ Supporting baby’s positioning
✔️ Using touch, movement, and breath to ease intensity

🌸 During labour, I become your anchor.
When things get intense (and they will), you don’t have to second-guess yourself.

I’m there to:
• Ground you when emotions rise
• Guide you through each contraction
• Help you feel safe, informed, and in control

💫 And when you feel like you can’t do it anymore…
That’s where I meet you.
Not with pressure.
Not with panic.
But with calm, steady support that brings you back to yourself.

🌿 Signature Support You Won’t Find Everywhere:

✨ Calm Labor Readiness – preparing your body for birth
✨ Gentle Birth Activation – supporting natural onset of labour
✨ Labour support massage that changes how contractions feel
✨ Postpartum care that helps you recover and feel like yourself again

🤍 This is for you if you want:

• A natural, supported birth experience
• To feel confident instead of fearful
• A doula who is present, skilled, and hands-on
• Support that continues beyond birth

✨ Limited spaces available — because I give each mama my full energy and presence.
📩 If you’re ready to feel supported, held, and prepared:

Emotional and physical birth support doesn’t compete with medical care; it complements it.💪🏽

Medical providers are responsible for monitoring health, managing risk, and making clinical decisions. Doulas focus on continuous, non-medical support: offering comfort measures, emotional reassurance, physical positioning, breathing support, and help navigating decisions as labor unfolds.

Doulas don’t replace doctors, midwives, or nurses. They work alongside them, staying with families throughout labor while medical teams may rotate or move between patients. Together, this creates a more supported, informed, and grounded birth experience, and improves medical outcomes.

As part of our February series, ‘Birth Support, Explained’, we are going back to basics on the power of doula care.🙌🏽 Stay tuned for more!
