Today I would like to announce the closing of my practice. It is the end of a season. This new season is filled with a lot of uncertainty, but at the same time a lot of certainty on what God is able to do. Thank you to everyone that entrusted their child’s heart to me. The one thing I see in practice a lot is that we as adults forget how to play. This can at times make it difficult to even know how play with our children, without there being a goal to be reached.

There is however one goal when it comes to playing with our kids and that is to play with our hearts and not with our minds. Just be present…forget about all you have learned as an adult and get in touch with your inner child.

A lot of parents come to parental guidance sessions with a lot of guilt and shame, but today, however, I would like to applaud you for still doing what you know is best for your child, eventhough it might feel very uncomfortable right now.

Asking for help does not mean you have failed. Asking for help brings better understanding. Better understanding brings the opportunity to grow to become a better parent than you were yesterday. We will never be able to be perfect parents, but continually growing brings us one step closer to it.
