The Aurum Institute POP INN joined communities, partners, and stakeholders at the official launch of the national rollout of Lenacapavir (LEN) at Lilian Ngoyi Stadium.

This groundbreaking twice-yearly injectable HIV prevention option marks a significant milestone in South Africa's ongoing efforts to reduce new HIV infections and expand access to innovative prevention choices.

For key populations in South Africa ,including gay, bis*xual and other men who have s*x with men, transgender people, people who use drugs, and other vulnerable communities, Lenacapavir represents an important additional prevention option.

With only two injections per year, it has the potential to reduce barriers associated with daily pill-taking, support privacy and convenience, improve adherence, and expand access to effective HIV prevention.

As South Africa rolls out this innovation, we remain committed to community engagement, demand creation, and ensuring that no one is left behind.

Together, we continue to advance HIV prevention, empower communities, and support a future free from HIV.

Knowledge is Power! ⚖️

Mpilonhle recently hosted a Legal Literacy & Know Your Rights session in uMnambithi, focused on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).

The session equipped community members with important information about their rights, access to healthcare services, bodily autonomy, and the legal protections available to them. It also created a safe space for open dialogue, learning, and empowerment.

By strengthening legal awareness, we continue to build informed and empowered communities. 💙

Yesterday we were in Pietermaritzburg together with the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health, TB HIV Care, and peer support from Uthingo Network, including mobile clinic services for the community.
