Kasi Pride was more than a celebration of identity, visibility and q***r joy. It created a platform for much-needed conversations that challenge perspectives, foster understanding and inspire meaningful change.

One speaker shared a powerful reflection:

“Conversations create progress, unlike chitchat or individual chats.”

This message captured the essence of the gathering: real progress happens when we move beyond isolated discussions and create spaces for collective dialogue, shared responsibility and meaningful action.

Supported by multiple stakeholders, including
The Aurum Institute POP INN Programme, National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), Office of the Deputy Minister in the Presidency, loveLife, TB HIV Care, UNISA National Youth Service and IAM Ministries, the event demonstrated the power of multisectoral collaboration in advancing inclusion, dignity, equality and access to services.

Kasi Pride reminded us that visibility matters, dialogue drives progress, and meaningful change requires collective action.

MOKOPANE PRIDE 2026 | COMMUNITY PRIDE, COMMUNITY VOICES, COMMUNITY CHANGE!

Mokopane Pride was a powerful reminder that community-based Pride events are not just celebrations of visibility, but essential platforms for meaningful conversations, solidarity and the change our communities urgently need.

Joining the march were members of the LGBTIQA+ community from Mokopane and surrounding areas, alongside organisations including IHPS, the Forum for the Empowerment of Women (FEW), The Aurum Institute POP INN Programme, loveLife, the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development, and various civil society organisations and leaders.

Community Pride must be supported, strengthened and amplified. These are the spaces where lived experiences meet advocacy, where conversations challenge stigma and discrimination, and where communities collectively shape a more inclusive future.

🏳️‍🌈 Pride must go beyond the march. The conversations we start must translate into meaningful action and lasting change.

National Pride Flag Tour | Cape Town Edition

The National Pride Flag Tour has reached Cape Town! A city known for its diversity, resilience and vibrant q***r communities.

Hosted by TB HIV Care, this final stop brought together voices united by a shared vision of equitable, inclusive and affirming healthcare.

Prof. Harry Hausler, CEO of TB HIV Care, opened the conversation, followed by powerful messages of solidarity from Gender DynamiX, the Desmond Tutu Foundation, Pride Shelter, Anova Health Institute, the Department of Health, and service beneficiaries from Cape Town.

The message from the Mother City is clear: Primary healthcare must be affirming!

Our communities rely on primary healthcare far more frequently than specialised services. Affirming care cannot remain confined to specialised facilities while everyday clinics continue to be spaces where people fear stigma, discrimination or judgement.

🏳️‍⚧️ From Khayelitsha to Bellville, Mitchells Plain to the Cape Flats, every clinic should be a place of dignity, belonging and respect.

As the flag completes its journey across South Africa, Cape Town reminds us that the final stop of the tour is not the end of the movement.

The Flag Has Travelled. The Conversations Have Started. Now the Commitments Must Become Action!

We all have a role to play in raising awareness, but the Pride Flag Tour reminds us that real progress happens when we come together, have the conversation, listen to one another and commit to action.

The Garden Route stop brought together SAPS, the Department of Social Development, Department of Health, local municipality, Correctional Services, civil society organisations, student movements and LGBTIQ+ communities around one table.

Different sectors, different responsibilities — one shared commitment to dignity, inclusion, safer communities and equitable access to services.

🏳️‍🌈 The flag brings us together. The conversation connects us. Collective action moves us forward.

🏳️‍🌈 PRIDE FLAG TOUR | FEATHER AWARDS 18

📍 Constitution Hill, Johannesburg

A significant moment for the Pride Flag Tour as it joined the 18th Feather Awards Nominees Announcement and the start of Africa Pride Month at Constitution Hill.

The programme featured the symbolic raising of the Rainbow Flag by Kelly Khumalo and Chanel Diale, alongside an exhibition by MambaOnline celebrating LGBTQI+ visibility, history and storytelling.

Adding to this special moment, Feather Awards founders, nominees and attendees had the honour of signing the National Pride Flag Tour flag, adding their voices and commitments to a growing national movement for dignity, equality and inclusion.

🌈 Many signatures. One flag. A national commitment to do more.

As the Flag Tour continues, we celebrate progress not as the end of the journey, but as inspiration to do more.

Making LGBTIQ+ Communities Part of the Process

An HIV-free generation is possible, but LGBTIQ+ communities must be part of shaping the process — not simply recipients of services.

The Mthatha engagement brought together LGBTIQ+ communities, civil society organisations, the Department of Health, Department of Social Development, TB HIV Care, and other partners and stakeholders to reflect on how services can become more decentralised, accessible, inclusive and responsive to community needs.

When communities are part of the process, we move closer to services that reach everyone — and a future where no one is left behind.
