Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic in the fluoroquinolone group. It is used to treat certain bacterial infections, including:
✓Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
✓Typhoid fever
✓Some stomach and intestinal infections
✓Certain respiratory infections
✓Skin and soft tissue infections
✓Bone and joint infections
Common side effects:
°Nausea or vomiting
°Diarrhea
°Stomach pain
°Headache
°Dizziness
Important precautions:
✓ Take it exactly as prescribed by a healthcare provider.
✓ Avoid taking it with milk, yogurt, antacids, or supplements containing calcium, magnesium, iron, or zinc at the same time because these can reduce its effectiveness.
Drink plenty of water while taking it.
∆ Ciprofloxacin does not treat viral infections such as the common cold or flu.
