𝐀 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚

Never thought you’d see a before & after like this on our page…

Last year, Dr performed a very special procedure at on Pharnos, the most adorable Maine C**n with one very unique eyelid concern.

Pharnos had a lax eyelid positioned next to a very prominent orbital rim. In collaboration with the veterinary team, hyaluronic acid dermal filler was carefully injected beneath the eyelid to provide structural support and help improve the eyelid position.

The procedure was performed while Pharnos was safely sedated, offering a minimally invasive approach to support his anatomy.

It’s a wonderful reminder of how innovative aesthetic medicine can be when collaboration comes together in unexpected ways.

A very special thank you to the incredible team at Valley Farm Animal Hospital, Dr Jeanetta Uys and Dr Lo-An Odayar, for this amazing opportunity and for trusting Dr Juanri with your beautiful patient.

And of course, to Pharnos, one of the most unforgettable filler patients we’ve ever had. 🐈

Every year, our patients and community help us support causes close to our hearts. This year, we are honoured to partner with for an Animal Shelter Winter Drive, supporting the incredible work they do with the shelters and animals in their care.

Community has always been an important part of who we are, and this is a simple way for our patients and team to get involved in something that makes a real difference.

Winter can be especially hard on shelters that rely on donations to keep animals warm, fed and cared for.

The Christa Foundation donation bin will be available at LifeLAB for anyone who would like to contribute:

🤍 Blankets
🤍 Pet food
🤍 Toys

You can drop off donations at the practice, or send items via directly to:

LifeLAB Medical Practice
320 The Hillside Street, Lynnwood, Pretoria

Every donation, big or small, helps Christa Foundation support the shelters that depend on community involvement to continue their work.

Follow to learn more about the projects they support and to see how you can get involved beyond this drive. 🐾

One of the things I value most about aesthetic medicine is the opportunity to learn from and alongside colleagues who are passionate about what they do.

It was wonderful to spend the evening sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas, and reconnecting with some truly talented peers. These conversations challenge us to think differently, continue growing, and ultimately provide better care for our patients.

A very special thank you to .tshepomokwena for a thoughtful and insightful discussion, and to for hosting a beautiful Skin Network Pretoria evening.

Grateful for the people, the conversations, and the continuous pursuit of excellence.

This is not a new disease, but a more accurate name for a condition that has long been misunderstood.

For years, the term “polycystic o***y syndrome” placed too much focus on ovarian “cysts”, when the condition is far more complex. PMOS can affect hormones, insulin regulation, metabolism, skin, menstrual cycles, fertility, pregnancy, sleep, mood and long-term health.

For many women, this name change offers a more complete way to understand their bodies, manage risks sooner, and receive care that looks beyond isolated symptoms.

We believe women deserve care that looks at the full picture - with proper assessment, clear explanations, and individualised support for better quality of life.

If you have been diagnosed with PCOS, or symptoms such as irregular cycles, acne, unwanted hair growth, weight changes or insulin resistance feel familiar, speak to your healthcare provider about a comprehensive assessment.

In her latest article for Own Your Hormones, Dr Juanri Jonck unpacks perimenopause for what it truly is: a significant whole-body hormonal transition that can influence sleep, mood, cognition, metabolism, skin, bone health and long-term wellbeing.

She reminds women that these changes should not be dismissed or silently endured. With the right medical guidance, early recognition and personalised support, perimenopause can be approached with greater clarity and confidence.

Thank you to Own Your Hormones for creating space for meaningful, medically grounded conversations around women’s health, hormones and the transitions so many women experience.

Die gesprek wat baie ouers so lank as moontlik probeer uitstel…

Menstruasie.

Biostimulators are one of the most exciting advances in aesthetic medicine and definitely one of our personal favourites.

Unlike traditional fillers that mainly add immediate volume, biostimulators work as collagen-supporting scaffolds within the skin. They stimulate fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin, helping to improve skin firmness, smoothness and overall tissue quality over time.

Some visible improvement may be seen early, but the real regenerative benefit develops gradually over the following months. This is why biostimulators require patience, consistency and the right treatment plan.

The outcome is shaped by the quality of the skin and the body’s ability to respond - including factors such as age, hormones, lifestyle and overall skin health.
