Some journeys become part of your story from the very beginning.

Thank you for trusting Our Village over the past year and for allowing us to be part of your journey. Hearing how our space, team, and care have impacted families means more than words can express.

This is why we do what we do. To another year of being the helping hand to so many incredible people!

One year ago, Our Village opened its doors with a vision to create a space where care feels connected, supportive, and personal.

Over the past year, we’ve had the privilege of meeting incredible families, celebrating milestones, supporting journeys, and building a community rooted in compassion and care.

What started as an idea has grown into something so much more. A space where healthcare, therapy, wellness, and support come together under one roof.

To every family, patient, therapist, and team member who has been part of our journey, thank you for trusting us, supporting us, and growing with us.

May marks 1 year of Our Village at our Garsfontein premises, and we are only getting started.

Here’s to the memories made, the lives touched, and the journey ahead.

With gratitude,
The Our Village Team

When you walk into Our Village, you’ll feel it immediately — this isn’t just a healthcare space. It’s something more personal, more intentional.
Suzanne de Beer is one of the co-founders behind that vision. Her heart has always been rooted in creating a space where families feel supported, seen, and cared for through every stage of life.

Alongside building Our Village, Suzanne followed a deep love for working with babies, which led her to create LumiFloat — a baby hydrotherapy and wellness space designed to nurture both little bodies and growing families.
Her approach is simple but powerful: gentle, holistic care that supports development, connection, and calm.

Whether you're visiting for family care or stepping into LumiFloat for the first time, Suzanne’s goal remains the same — to create a space where you feel at home.

It’s a common concern:
“Why isn’t my wound getting better?”

In many cases, the issue isn’t the wound itself — it’s what’s causing it or preventing healing.

Factors like circulation problems, underlying conditions, pressure, or repeated trauma can all delay recovery.

Danielle Skinner often helps patients understand that unless the root cause is addressed, the wound may continue to return or remain open.
Another important factor is time. Chronic wounds can take around 12 weeks to heal, and even longer if other health conditions are present.
The goal isn’t quick improvement.
It’s sustainable healing.

Understanding the “why” behind a wound is the first step toward recovery.

Immunisations play an important role in protecting children through every stage of development.

In this informative video, Sr Brumilda explains the recommended immunisation schedule and shares more about the private and government vaccination options available at Seek First Clinic.

Understanding when vaccinations are due can help parents feel more prepared and confident in supporting their child’s health journey.

Early protection matters.

Many teens today are carrying more than we realise.
Academic pressure, social expectations, screen exposure, and constant comparison can lead to stress that builds quietly over time.
It might look like:
• Irritability or withdrawal
• Difficulty concentrating
• Sleep challenges
• Avoiding schoolwork

Anxiety doesn’t always announce itself clearly. Often, it shows up in small changes that are easy to miss.

Nicole van Niekerk works closely with adolescents to help them understand what they’re experiencing and develop practical ways to manage it. With the right support, teens can learn to navigate these pressures in a healthier, more sustainable way.

Small shifts can make a meaningful difference over time.

When you walk into a doctor’s room, you’re often carrying more than just symptoms.

Dr Natasha understands that. Her journey into medicine was shaped by a desire to support people in their most vulnerable moments — not only to treat illness, but to build trust and offer reassurance when it’s needed most.

As a general practitioner with experience across paediatrics, geriatrics, and aesthetics, she brings a well-rounded, thoughtful approach to care. Her focus is not just on treating what’s there, but helping patients understand their health so they can prevent future concerns.

Patients are encouraged to ask questions, to learn, and to feel part of their own healthcare journey.

If you’re looking for a doctor who takes the time to listen and guide you with clarity and care, Dr Natasha is here for you.
