What an incredible morning spent outside.
Thank you Amelia and Jonathan Meet the Minis for being so accommodating towards our family and constantly checking in despite having a venue booking with a children's party. Special mention to Lorenzo for literally taking it one step at a time until our daughter felt comfortable. And then, the newly appointed (by us) CEO, Shenay. This angel saw a challenge happening with our daughter trying to walk the mini. She stepped in, took the other side of the halter and spoke calmly to her. Saying "I will be with you every step. You are doing amazing. Well done. Lets try a jump. I've got you. If you feel like falling l, just let go of the lead, Ma will catch you and I will have the horse. You can do it!" And she did!
Thank you Shenay, and well done to her parents for raising an incredible human.

What others see as an incorrect stance, I, as a mother, see as determination and resilience.

And I see an incredible coach who pushes with kindness — someone who teaches our daughter to use her body to do martial arts her way.

Not incorrect. DIFFERENT.

Thank you, Oom Flip, Sensei, for your dedication, patience and passion, and for always cheering the loudest! 🥋❤️

Few thing come close to the spoil of going to Ouma and Oupa. But this was magic, I went to the reserve to look at animals WITH them. Chocolate easter bunny for breakfast, picnic, Zebras, different antelope, big birds (ostrich) and plenty of small birds (ouma and oupa knows the names) AND I fed the cutest donkeys! Thank you for being everything Grandparents should be. I love you lots like Jelly Tots ❤️

This face says everything!
Fishing with my uncle. I've waited patiently for this day. Moms don't enjoy the whole fishing thing all that much. But oom Flip is a great fishing partner. Let's reel them in boys!

I lie beside you as sleep slowly finds you, your breathing softening, your world growing quiet. In this in-between moment, where the day loosens it's grip and dreams begin, I find myself watching you. Really seeing you.

And what I see feels almost too simple to explain.

Perfect.

Not the kind of perfect the world tries to sell us. Not polished, not filtered, not measured against anyone or anything. Just… whole. Complete. Exactly as you are.

Because in this stillness, none of the things that might stand out during the day seem to exist. The glasses, the hearing aids, the orthotics, the medication, all those small, practical parts of your life that help you move through the world - fade into nothing. They don’t define you here. They don’t even register.

All I see is you.

Your softness. Your strength. The quiet resilience in your being. The way your presence fills the room even in silence. There is no list of flaws, no tally of differences, only a deep, undeniable sense that you are exactly who you are meant to be.

And it makes me wonder if this is how we are always meant to be seen.

Not through the sharp, critical lens we so often turn on ourselves. Not through comparison or expectation. But through something gentler. Something truer.

Maybe this is how God sees His children.

Not as a collection of imperfections to be corrected, but as creations already complete. Already worthy. Already enough. Every detail known, yet none of it diminishing the beauty of the whole.

As you drift further into sleep, unaware of my quiet watching, I realise something: this kind of seeing, this kind of love, isn’t about ignoring what’s there. It’s about understanding that none of it takes away from who you are.

You are not “perfect despite.”

You are perfect. Full stop.

And if I can see that so clearly in you, then maybe, just maybe, it’s true for all of us.

TODAY IS WORLD HEARING DAY! We often take hearing for granted, until it fades. Please help us bring back the sounds of life for our AMAZING gifted daughter. Phase 1 was getting bilateral CROS hearing aids and it has been amazing seeing her blossom with what it has given her back. This is definitely not something within our reach, but it is something we can do together.

Having surround sound hearing has been magical. I got my Phonak Cros hearing aids on Tuesday. Wednesday they really hurt me and I only managed till 12h00. Yesterday was a lot better and I managed till 16h00 when I went for a swim. Today everything was super loud and I lost it a little bit. Screamed myself into a nosebleed (sorry friends). Moms came to fetch me early from school with some quiet time. I've been brave and at 17h15 my magical gear remains in my ears. Thank you for everyone sending bravery my way. 🫶🏼
