As the 18th World Congress on Public Health drew to a close, we sat down with Prof Lekan Ayo-Yusuf, Chair of the School of Health Systems & Public Health, for a final reflection on the Congress.

From thought-provoking discussions and shared research to new connections and perspectives, WCPH 2026 provided a valuable platform for meaningful exchange and engagement on the issues shaping public health. All contributing to a stronger, more informed vision for the future of public health.

As the Congress draws to an end, Dr Heleen Roos reflects on the sessions and conversations that have stood out to her — particularly the growing presence and contribution of young voices in public health.

A reminder that the future of public health is not only being discussed; young professionals are already part of the conversation. 🌍
