The goal of Primary Health Care (PHC) is to promote and protect health, providing accessible and equitable care throughout an indivual's lifespan, whilst empowering communities to take control of their own health and well-being. PHC provides comprehensive healthcare that goes beyond just treating specific diseases to include the promotion, prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care of physical and mental health, so that people know what causes their illnesses, are enabled to prevent illness, and kept healthy as long as possible.
Primary Healthcare is delivered as close as possible to people's homes/ communities, making it more accessible and responsive to their needs. That is why Mi-Clinic is able to provide services in a way convenient to the patient:
- At a clinic within the communities we serve
- At the patient's home/office
- Digitally, if it's convenient to the patient!
PHC encourages individuals, families, and communities to participate actively in managing their own health and making healthier choices. It recognizes that health is influenced by broader social, environmental, and economic factors, and therefore involves cross-sectoral policies and actions to tackle these root causes.
Mi-Clinic always aims to embrace the characteristics of Primary Healthcare delivery, which are:
- Expanded access to care
- Health promotion
- Disease prevention
- Maintaining a healthy status, even when living with disease
How do we do this?
- We accept everyone as they are, and promote stigma-free access to Healthcare
- We meet our patients where they are at - not everyone has access to information/options, so we establish where our patient is at and meet them where they can best benefit from our services
- We embrace all NATIONALITIES, RELIGIONS, CULTURES and RACES
- We treat everyone with respect, care and consideration
- We listen.
