Today, SANAC hosted the Chinese Delegation for a roundtable discussion with financial institutions and development partners as part of the five-day SADC–China Strategic Exchange Visit to South Africa on Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Regional Value Chains, which took place from 31 August to 4 September 2026. In her opening remarks, SANAC CEO Dr Thembisile Xulu set the scene for the discussions, saying, “The objective before us is not simply to explore investment opportunities in pharmaceutical manufacturing. Rather, it is to collectively examine how we can build an ecosystem that brings together market intelligence, predictable demand, regulatory readiness, technology transfer, and innovative financing to support sustainable local and regional production.
