June is Migraine & Headache Awareness Month 😶🌫️
👉 While a migraine is a headache, a headache isn’t always a migraine.
Did you know a migraine is the 3rd most common medical problem in the world and the 7th most disabling of all medical conditions.
A migraine is a neurological disease, not just a severe headache. Affecting roughly 10% to 15% of people worldwide, it is ranked by the World Health Organization as one of the highest causes of disability globally, alongside conditions like stroke.
Women are three times more likely to experience migraines than men.
Headaches cause pain in the neck, sinuses, face, and head. Migraines, however, cause debilitating pain, visual disturbances, or both. Without relief, migraines can cause other symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, muscle weakness and can also lead to depression.
