Does your child struggle to recognise what their body is telling them?🧐

Interoception is our “hidden sense” that helps us notice what’s happening inside our bodies, like feeling hungry, needing the toilet, recognising pain, or knowing when we’re tired or unwell.

When children have difficulties with interoception, you might notice challenges with:
✨ Toilet training
✨ Recognising hunger or thirst
✨ Responding to pain appropriately
✨ Emotional regulation difficulties
✨ Difficulties with self-care and independence

The good news is interoception skills can be developed through targeted occupational therapy through play-based, individualised therapy to help children better understand their bodies, build self-awareness, and develop the confidence to respond to their body’s signals.
