Is collagen a complete scam? No. Is it oversold? Absolutely.

The science is far less dramatic than the advertisements. While collagen peptides may offer modest improvements in skin hydration and elasticity for some people, they won’t magically replace lost collagen or erase decades of ageing.

The biggest determinants of healthy skin remain surprisingly simple: sunscreen, adequate protein, vitamin C, sleep, avoiding smoking, and evidence-based skincare.

Before spending hundreds on supplements, ask yourself whether you’ve already optimised the fundamentals.

Breastfeeding can feel overwhelming at times, but knowing what’s normal can make all the difference. 💛

In these carousels, I cover:
• Signs your baby is getting enough milk
• What’s normal (and not normal) when it comes to baby poo
• Common breastfeeding challenges like engorgement, sore ni***es, blocked ducts and mastitis
• A few common breastfeeding myths that deserve to be busted!

Remember, breastfeeding shouldn’t be painful, and if you’re ever worried about your baby’s feeding or your own breastfeeding journey, don’t hesitate to reach out to your GP or a lactation consultant.

Part 3: Breastfeeding isn’t always intuitive—for parents or babies.

Many normal newborn behaviours are mistaken for illness, while genuine feeding problems can sometimes be missed. Knowing what is normal (and what isn’t) can make those early weeks much less stressful.

Remember: persistent pain, poor weight gain or feeding difficulties deserve assessment by a healthcare professional or experienced lactation consultant.
