WORLD TB DAY
World TB Day reminds us that tuberculosis remains a serious public health concern, particularly in countries like South Africa. Despite being preventable and curable, TB continues to affect thousands of people every year.
Early testing and timely treatment remain essential in controlling the spread of the disease. Communities must be encouraged to seek medical attention when symptoms such as a persistent cough, fever, night sweats, or weight loss appear.
Equally important is completing the full course of treatment. When treatment is interrupted, drug-resistant TB can develop, making the disease far more difficult to manage.
Together, we can work towards a future free from tuberculosis.
