Closing 1.1 million HIV Treatment Gap is meant for people who tested positive but never started ART. The Gauteng Province has a target of 325 000 to be initiated on ART. The campaign was launched in Gauteng Province due to high gap to treatment.
The campaign prioritizes men aged 25-29 and above 50 years and youth. The department’s aim is close a gap through this campaign for men who are reluctant to visit healthcare facilities.

Far East Rand Regional Hospital's Accidents and Emergency Department is currently under renovation and the Out Patients Department (OPD) has been temporarily moved to an interim structure.

Management took time to assess the interim OPD structure in light of changing weather conditions, sought feedback from patients, and also used the opportunity to support our dedicated staff on duty.
