Recipe 1: Roasted Butternut Soup 🧑
Serves 6

Ingredients
β€’ 1 butternut
β€’ 200ml coconut milk
β€’ 350ml vegetable stock
β€’ 1–2 red onions
β€’ 2 carrots
β€’ 1–2 bell peppers
β€’ 2 tomatoes or 1 cup cherry tomatoes
β€’ 1–2 heads of garlic
β€’ 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated β€” optional
β€’ Olive oil β€” to drizzle
β€’ Fresh coriander β€” to garnish

Seasoning
β€’ 1 tsp black pepper
β€’ 1 tsp ground cumin
β€’ 1 tsp paprika
β€’ 1 tsp dried thyme
β€’ 1 tsp dried rosemary
β€’ Chilli flakes or chilli oil β€” to taste

Method

1. Preheat oven to 200Β°C.
2. Peel + chop the butternut, or cut it in half for roasting. Chopped butternut cooks faster.
3. Add the butternut, onions, carrots, peppers, tomatoes + garlic to a roasting dish. Sprinkle over the seasonings, drizzle with olive oil + toss to coat.
4. Cover with foil and roast for about 1Β½ hours, or until soft + golden. Remove the foil for the last 10 minutes to caramelise.
5. Scoop out the butternut flesh if halved. Blend all the roasted vegetables with the stock + ginger, if using, until silky smooth.
6. Pour into a pot, stir in the coconut milk + warm through gently.
7. Serve with coconut milk, fresh coriander + chilli oil or chilli flakes.

✨ Clever Cleaning Hacks ✨

From crisp white sheets and soft, fluffy towels to removing oven grime quickly, lifting stains, and freshening your home β€” these clever little hacks make everyday cleaning so much easier. πŸ’«

Quick guide to the hacks πŸ‘‡πŸΌ

1️⃣ Crisp white sheets πŸ›οΈ
Pretreat stains with 1 part hydrogen peroxide + 2 parts water. Leave for 30 minutes. Sprinkle Β½ cup of bicarb into the empty drum, add sheets, wash warm with normal detergent + use vinegar instead of fabric softener. Don’t overcrowd the machine.

2️⃣ Carpet stains 🧼
Dab the stain with shaving cream, leave for a few minutes, then blot clean.

3️⃣ Sticky labels πŸ’¨
Warm the label gently with a hairdryer to help loosen the glue, then peel away.

4️⃣ Musty odours πŸƒ
Lightly spray vodka onto musty-smelling fabrics to help freshen them.

5️⃣ Fruit flies 🍎
Place cinnamon sticks in the fruit bowl to help keep fruit flies away.

6️⃣ Brighter white socks πŸ‘•
Soak socks in bicarb + salt before washing to help brighten them.

7️⃣ Oven cleaning hack πŸ‹
Heat oven to 120Β°C. Place a bowl of boiling water + lemon slices inside. Let it steam for 30 minutes, then scrub with a baking-soda-topped lemon. Wipe down with a damp microfibre cloth.

8️⃣ Soft + fluffy towels 🀍
Fill the detergent halfway. Use vinegar instead of fabric softener. Add a few drops of your favourite essential oil to the vinegar. Add Β½ cup of bicarb to the empty drum. Wash in warm water.

9️⃣ Stain-busting tip πŸ’¦
Stretch fabric over a bowl and slowly pour boiling water over fruit, wine or tomato sauce stains.
