A winter-skin routine for eczema and dry-skin sufferers:
• Showers or baths should be short (five to ten minutes) and warm, not hot.
• Cleanser should be a gentle liquid and preferably fragrance, SLS and sulphate free.
• Moisturise within three minutes of showering/bathing, while the skin is still damp to lock in moisture.
• With active flares apply a spray of our non-toxic hypochlorous acid spray and allow it to air dry. Follow with a non-occlusive emollient three to four times daily.
• Avoid petroleum jelly products, alkaline soaps, scratchy wool jerseys against the skin and fragranced laundry detergents.
• Add a bedroom humidifier in heated homes to add moisture to the dry air.
• Stay hydrated by drinking enough water.
