Do you say “sorry” too often?
Sometimes, being “too nice” isn’t really about being nice.
It can come from childhood.
From learning to feel guilty when someone was upset…
when you cried…
when you had needs…
or simply when you took up space.
So you learned to become easy to love:
quiet, understanding, hyper-aware of others, always apologizing.
Deep inside, a belief may have formed:
“If something goes wrong, it must be my fault.”
“Something is wrong with me.”
As an adult, you may know this isn’t true.
But emotionally, that child can still be carrying the guilt.
Over time, this can show up as anxiety, shame, difficulty setting boundaries, self-sabotage, fear of being a burden — and sometimes unhealthy ways of soothing emotional pain.
Not because you are weak.
Because you learned to survive before you learned to feel safe.
Healing begins when you stop asking,
“What is wrong with me?”
and start asking,
“What happened to me, and what do I need now?”
You don’t have to carry childhood guilt into every relationship.
From fear… to love. ❤️
