Before you read another message, answer another email, or respond to the next thing that needs you....
Take three slow breaths.
In. Hold. Out.

Now ask yourself one honest question:
How am I actually doing today?
Not how you told someone you were when they asked this morning.
How are you actually doing?
Because you cannot drive well when you don't know what state you're in behind the wheel of your life.

Your road. Your wheel. Your journey.

Has this ever happened to you?
Yesterday I drove home from the shops and arrived with absolutely no memory of the journey. Not a single traffic light, (okay there's only one on my route 😃) Not one turn. I went from A to B in a complete mental fog, and the car apparently did the journey "without me".
Before I could feel too concerned about my driving, I realised, that perhaps that's been how I've been living lately. Getting things done, arriving at places, but not really present for any of it.
I've been on autopilot. Managing. Functioning. But not truly, consciously choosing any of it.
Sound familiar?
The good news is, autopilot can be switched off.

Your Road. Your Wheel. Your Journey.

I want to tell you about the morning I couldn't sign the contract. I had been house-hunting for months. Found a beautiful place on the East End of London. The agent waiting. The pen was in my hand. And I couldn't do it. Something in my body simply refused. I apologised and left, and went home feeling like I had lost my mind. A year later I met Richard. The life that followed would not have been possible if I had signed that contract. I did not have a reason. I had a feeling. I had learned, through many wrong turns, to trust the feeling before the reason arrived. Your body knows things your mind hasn't caught up with yet.
(Another sneak peak into my book, coming soon.)

"The road ahead doesn't need to be clear. It just needs to be yours." - A quote from my book, out soon. Happy Sunday. Rest if you need it. Move if you need to. And whatever you do today, let it be a choice that's good for you.
Your Road. Your Wheel. Your Journey.

I want to ask you something that might be uncomfortable. Whose expectations are you currently living by? Not whose values. Whose expectations. Because here is what I have noticed, in fifteen years of sitting with women: most of us are driving a route that someone else planned for us. A parent. A partner. A society that had very clear ideas about what a woman's life should look like. And we have been following that route for so long that we have started to think it is ours. One of the most powerful things I ever did was stop and ask: is this what I want? Not what I think I should want. Not what would make everyone else comfortable.
What do I actually want? The answer surprised me. It might surprise you too.

There is something I want to say to you this Monday afternoon: You've done the hard things. I know that sounds simple. But I want you to actually sit with it for a moment. You have survived things that would have stopped other people. You have made decisions in the dark without knowing whether they were right. You have kept going on the days when keeping going was the hardest possible thing. And somehow, here you are. We spend so much time looking at how far we still have to go that we forget to turn around and see how far we have come. This week I want to invite you to do something unusual: give yourself credit. Not false praise. Real, earned acknowledgment of the road you have already driven. You are more capable than you think. The evidence is in your own story.
Your road. Your wheel. Your journey.

Can I share the single most useful thing I've ever learned? Before you answer, decide, or react, take three slow breaths. That's it. That is the whole thing. I call it a Pull Over Moment. And I have used it in the most high-stakes situations of my life - a cancer diagnosis, a courtroom, the morning my husband clutched his chest in pain, the day I walked out of a job that was making me smaller. Three breaths creates a space better the event and your response, and in that space, you get to choose. Not react. Choose. That is what it means to Take the Wheel. Try it today. Before the next difficult conversation, decision or moment that triggers you. Three slow breaths. Then see what you do.
Your Road, Your Wheel. Your Journey.

A question to end the week with: If your life were a road trip, who would you want in the passenger seat? Not who is there right now. Who would you choose? I'd love to know. Drop a name or a quality in the comments - even just one word works.

Happy Sunday.

In the quiet, I found my power.

When life handed me a diagnosis I wasn’t ready for, I discovered the most important thing I could do was pause. Not run, not react, just breathe.

I’m so grateful I got to share my story in the latest Odyssey Magazine.

If you’re in the middle of something hard right now, know that stillness is not a weakness, it’s where your answers live.

Sometimes we step outside of our comfort zone ..... a little nervous .... a little unsure… and we end up experiencing something unexpectedly beautiful.
Saying yes to officiating this wedding was one of those moments for me.
I didn’t realise just how special it would feel to stand with two people on such a meaningful day, and how saying YES to one brave moment has opened the door to others still to come.
A great reminder that we truly grow when we step beyond ‘what’s normal for us’. There is magic when we're brave enough to feel scared, but decide to do it anyway!
I hope this post inspires you to try something new and brave in 2026.
