Working on yourself sounds beautiful until you actually start doing it.

Then come the questions, the triggers, the parts of yourself you didn't know were still wounded. And then there is relationship... where two people with different upbringings, beliefs, experiences and convictions try to build one life together.

That's when the real work begins.
In relationships, people often spend so much time trying to prove who is right and who is wrong that they miss something important. Most of the time, both people are responding from what shaped them.

I've noticed that even siblings raised in the same home can walk away with completely different experiences of the same parents, the same environment, the same events. So what happens when two strangers meet and decide to do life together?

It can be challenging because relationships have a way of exposing the parts of us we haven't healed, questioned, or understood. The things we thought we had mastered suddenly appear again in a different form.

When someone is intentional about growth, they stop seeing every disagreement as an attack and start seeing it as information.

What is this situation showing me about myself? Why does this affect me so deeply?

Self-awareness is not developed in comfort. It is often developed in connection. Especially in relationships we choose to stay in because they matter to us.

Sometimes the relationship isn't just teaching us about the other person. It is introducing us to ourselves. And that can be one of the hardest—and most transformative—journeys we ever take.

One thing about karma... it doesn't send a message asking, "Do you remember me?"
I had a very interesting conversation maobane, and as I listened, I realized I was hearing the exact same story I once cried over and complained about... just with different people involved. Child... I sat there shocked because they were describing what I went through when they crucified me.
It knows the address. And somehow, it never misses.

What struck me wasn't their pain. It was how familiar it sounded.
Sometimes life has a way of bringing a mirror back to us years later. Not so we can celebrate someone's suffering, but so we can finally see what we couldn't see when we were inside our own wounds. The same patterns, the same betrayals, the same excuses, the same arrogance that made people believe they would never face the consequences of their choices.

I've noticed that when we're hurting, we often want immediate justice. We want people to understand what they did while the wound is still fresh. We want acknowledgment, remorse, something. But life doesn't always work that way.

People think consequences only happen in courtrooms or through public exposure. Sometimes the consequence is becoming the very person you once judged. Sometimes it's experiencing the same loneliness you caused. Sometimes it's finally understanding a pain you dismissed when it belonged to someone else.

And the interesting thing is that by the time that understanding arrives, the person who was wounded has often already healed and moved on.
There is something humbling about witnessing that moment. Not because it feels good, but because it reminds us that every action leaves an imprint.

What we release into the world has a way of finding its way back, carrying lessons we refused to learn the first time.
Maybe that's why healing is so important. When karma arrives at someone's doorstep, you don't want to still be standing at the window waiting for it. You want to be so far into your own peace that all you can do is quietly nod and think...

"Now you understand."
