She told a story of how she explored the journey from surviving trauma and loss to reclaiming self worth, forgiveness and personal power. Through her story women were reminded that while we cannot always choose what happens to us, we can decide what we do next and that courage is already within us

We walk through situations that can seem impassible, but when we remember who walks with us, we can walk a little taller and with a little less fear.

I have not spoken much about my journey with a family member that has mental illness. I walked it alone till yesterday.

The fear you have as a mother watching your child face something you cannot see, you cannot fight and you cannot take away is awful.

Learning to trust the unseen, the ancestors that surround you and the fact that this journey is already scripted can be one of the most immense tasks.

If you feel you are walking alone and are afraid, remember all those that love and have loved you and remember they outnumber your fears.
