Hidden beneath the surface of your body lies a powerhouse of strength and stability known as the pelvic floor.

🧘‍♀️ Understanding the Pelvic Floor: The pelvic floor is a group of muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues that form a sling-like structure at the base of your pelvis. It supports vital organs such as the bladder, uterus (in females), and re**um. This muscular web is essential for various functions: Swipe to see.

When it comes to cardio, it's not just about how long you work out—it's about working out at the right intensity.

⚡ Why Heart Rate Matters
Your heart rate indicates how hard your body is working. Training within the right zone can improve endurance, burn fat, and boost cardiovascular health.

⚙️ How to Find Your Target Zone
• To calculate your maximum heart rate, subtract your age from 220.
• Use a heart rate monitor or manually check your pulse during exercise to ensure you’re in the right zone for your goals.

Swipe to see how to target your heart rate for maximum results.

💡 The Result?
Training in the right heart rate zone helps you stay efficient and focused on your goals, whether it’s fat loss, endurance, or peak performance.

🧐 Demystifying Rotator Cuff Impingement
Rotator cuff impingement occurs when the tendons of the rotator cuff muscles in the shoulder become compressed or irritated, particularly when the arm is raised or rotated. This condition can lead to pain, inflammation, and restricted range of motion.

A possible mechanism of injury may be when you fall on an outstretched arm. Common symptoms include:

1️⃣ Pain at the front of your shoulder.
2️⃣ Point tenderness.
3️⃣ Decreased range of motion.
4️⃣ Loss in your strength.
5️⃣ Pain when lifting your arm overhead.

Building strength is only half the equation—stability is the key to injury prevention and long-term success. To optimize your workout routine, focus on compound movements like squats, deadlifts, and presses that engage multiple muscle groups while incorporating core stability exercises such as planks, bridges, and stability ball rollouts. Strengthen your muscles to handle heavier loads, but also train your stabilizer muscles to support proper posture and movement mechanics.

The balance between strength and stability is essential for overall fitness and injury-free performance. Ready to build a stronger, more stable body? It’s time to combine both strength and stability in your workout routine. Let’s start today! 💪

🤓 What is the Iliacus Muscle? The iliacus muscle is a flat, triangular muscle located deep within your pelvis, near the front of your hip joint. It is often partnered with the psoas major muscle, together forming the iliopsoas muscle group.

💪 Functions:
1️⃣ Hip Flexion: The primary function of the iliacus muscle is to perform hip flexion, allowing you to lift your thigh toward your torso. This motion is fundamental for activities like walking, running, and standing up from a seated position.
2️⃣ Core Stabilization: The iliacus, along with the psoas major, contributes to core stabilization by maintaining the alignment of your spine and pelvis. This is essential for good posture, balance, and preventing lower back pain.
3️⃣ Aiding in Leg Movements: The iliacus muscle doesn't just assist in hip flexion; it also supports various leg movements, helping to ensure that your lower limbs function smoothly.

🏃 Everyday Applications: From getting out of bed to walking, running, and even sitting up straight, the iliacus muscle is continually at work, ensuring that your hips move with grace and stability.
🧘 Fitness Focus: Fitness enthusiasts often target the iliacus and psoas major muscles through exercises like leg lifts and hip flexor stretches to enhance hip flexibility and core strength.

Stretching is used to warm up the muscle and prepare them for activity… FALSE! Stretching a muscle before warming them up can damage the muscle fibers.

If you warm-up first with a quick walk/light jog or some aerobic exercise for 5 min, you’ll get blood flow to the area which makes the tissue ready for stretching.

When stretching, you should feel tension on the muscle, not pain. Now what is cold muscle stretching, static stretching and what is dynamic stretching and when should I do what?

Now, when to use each type of stretching depends on your fitness goals and the timing of your workout:
1️⃣ Pre-Workout: Start with dynamic stretching to warm up your muscles and prepare them for the upcoming activity. This can boost your performance and reduce the risk of injury.
2️⃣ Post-Workout: After your workout, incorporate static stretching to help your muscles recover, increase flexibility, and prevent stiffness.
3️⃣ Anytime/Recovery Days: Consider cold muscle stretching when you want to improve overall flexibility. It's perfect for mornings or during breaks to relieve muscle tension.

What's your favourite stretching routine or tip? Share it below, and let's inspire each other to stretch toward greater flexibility and wellness! 💬👇

🧐 Demystifying Shoulder Impingement
Shoulder impingement is a condition where the tendons or bursa (fluid-filled sacs that cushion the joint) in the shoulder become compressed or "pinched" during certain movements. This compression can lead to pain, inflammation, and restricted range of motion.

❗️ The Causes and Impact
Shoulder impingement can happen due to various factors,
including:
1️⃣ Overuse or Repetitive Motion: Activities involving repeated overhead arm movements, such as swimming, tennis, or painting, can strain the shoulder structures over time.
2️⃣ Anatomy: Some individuals may have a predisposition to impingement due to the shape of their shoulder bones.
3️⃣ Age: As we age, wear and tear on the shoulder joint can increase the risk.
4️⃣ Muscle Weakness: Weakness in the muscles that support the shoulder can contribute to impingement.
