Brand identity creation for a luxury safari lodge in Hoedspruit, South Africa.
Ujima Lodge is a luxury safari retreat in the Greater Kruger, where elegant accommodation and immersive nature experiences come together in one of Africa’s most beautiful landscapes.
Stephanie and Lee approached Ima Studio Design to create the lodge’s brand identity around a shared vision: a space designed for retreats, meaningful group experiences, and deep connection to the natural world. At the heart of the project was a commitment not only to wellness and hospitality, but also to wildlife conservation, community upliftment, and the protection of wild spaces for future generations.
The brand was shaped around the idea that true luxury today is found in stillness, connection, and access to nature untouched by modern noise.
The organic symbol at the heart of the Ujima Lodge identity draws inspiration from the rhythms, ecosystems, and interconnectedness of the African wilderness.
Its radial form evokes both a rising sun and indigenous flora, symbolising life, renewal, and nature’s cycles. The outward-reaching elements radiating from a shared centre reflects the meaning of Ujima “collective work and responsibility” - expressing unity, connection, and shared purpose 🌿
