Cryoablation is an advanced, minimally invasive treatment that uses extreme cold to destroy cancerous and abnormal tissue with remarkable precision.

Guided by real-time imaging, an Interventional Radiologist places a small probe directly into the tumour, where freezing temperatures are used to target and treat the affected area while preserving as much healthy tissue as possible.

Cryoablation can be an effective treatment option for selected patients with tumours in organs such as the kidney, lung and liver, often avoiding the need for major surgery.

It is another example of how Interventional Radiology is transforming cancer care through innovative, image-guided treatments.
