Every single time I step out in this protective style, the Fashion Police are on immediate high alert. 🚨😂
People are so quick to say, "Oh, we are tired of this hairstyle of yours!" or "Look, it’s her signature look again."
First of all... minded businesses are beautiful businesses. 💅
But second of all, it's wild how people see a girl plaiting her own natural hair without adding four pounds of synthetic bundles and immediately think, "Oh, she must be going through a financial crisis." 💀
Let’s clear up the confusion real quick: My bank account is doing just fine, thank you! I can afford the extra pieces. I can afford the high ponytails, the knotless braids, the gypsy locs—I’ve done them all, and I looked great doing them!
But right now? I am under new management, and that management is called Hair Growth & Length Retention. 👑🌱
This style means my hairline isn’t screaming for mercy, there is zero tension on my scalp, and I can actually reach my skin to moisturize it and watch my hair grow in peace.
So please, get used to it. Don't get fatigue. When I tell you, "Guys, I'm going to the salon today, I'm getting a brand new hairdo!"... I need you to mentally prepare yourself to see this exact same hairstyle when I walk back through the door. Nothing more, nothing less.
And honestly, if you’re out here trying to grow your hair past your shoulders instead of just chasing trends, you need to join the club, embrace the natural protective styles, and mind the business that pays you. Trust me, your scalp will thank me later
