TODAY'S DEVOTION

READ, 1 SAMUEL 26:21-25
The LORD rewards everyone for their righteousness and faithfulness.
1 Samuel 26:23, NIV

FAITHFULNESS

You may be consistently making decisions that honor God. You've stayed faithful in your marriage, made sacrifices for your children, been your best at your job, gone the extra mile to help others. You've done the right thing, but you haven't seen the dreams of your heart come to pass. Your time is coming. God rewards faithfulness. He is about to do something unusual. Blessings are going to track you down, healing is going to come knocking at your door, promotion that thrusts you to a new level. The problem you've struggled with for years is about to suddenly turn around. You're not going to have to make it happen. Don't be impatient for God to act. Those dreams He's placed in your heart are still on the schedule. Those promises He's whispered to you in the night are still in your future. Sometimes the reason it's taking so long is that what God has for you is bigger than you've imagined. He's getting you prepared to carry the weight of greater blessing.

A Prayer For Today
"Heavenly Father, thank You that You are the true and living God and that You reward those who are faithful and obey You. Thank You that my faithfulness can never earn Your blessing, but it can lead to it
I believe that when I am doing the right thing, You will reward me with favor. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

The Life I Sometimes Complain About Is the Life I Once Prayed For.❤️

I can choose to complain about the little sleep I got last night.

I can wake up grumpy because I have to prepare the children, make sure everyone is ready, find missing socks, shoes, books and somehow get everybody out of the house on time.😂

But I choose to smile.

Because these noisy mornings are also evidence that I have children to love, raise and watch grow.

I can choose to be frustrated because I already know there will be unimaginable traffic on the road.

Or I can take a deep breath, turn up my music, say a little prayer and remind myself:

At least I have somewhere to go.

I can complain about the noise, the questions, the mess and the endless demands from my children.

Or I can remember that one day, the house may be strangely quiet, and I might actually miss the very noise I am complaining about today.

I can choose to focus on my spouse's forgetfulness, the things he doesn't do, the things he does differently from me and all the little things that irritate me.

Or I can choose to remember his kindness, his love, his support, the sacrifices he makes, the laughter we share, the way he shows up for our family and the good man he is despite his imperfections.

Nobody is perfect. Including me.

I can complain about Monday meetings.

Or I can be grateful that I have a place where my presence and contribution matter.

I can complain that my salary comes on time because somehow there is always another bill waiting for it.😂

I can complain when my salary delays.

But instead, I choose to be grateful that I have an income to begin with.

I can complain that my life is boring.

Or I can stop and realise that perhaps what I call "boring" is actually peace.

No unnecessary drama.
No chaos.
Just life quietly happening.

I can complain that I drive too much.

Or I can smile and say:

"Thank God I have a car." 🚗

Because someone is praying for the very things I sometimes take for granted.

And that is the lesson I am learning:

Life will always give us something to complain about.

There will always be traffic.
Bills.
Mondays.
Noise.
Delays.
Forgetfulness.
Exhaustion.
Responsibilities.
Unexpected problems.

The question is not whether life is difficult.

The question is: What will I choose to focus on?

Gratitude does not mean pretending everything is perfect.

It means recognising that even in an imperfect life, there are still beautiful things worth appreciating.

Sometimes we don't need a new life.

We need new eyes to see the life we already have.

So today, I choose joy.

I choose gratitude.

I choose to notice the good.

I choose to smile.

Not because everything is perfect, but because I refuse to allow every imperfect thing to steal the joy from the beautiful things.❤️

What are YOU choosing today?

TODAY'S DEVOTION

READ, PSALM 34:1-10..those who trust in the LORD will lack no good thing. Psalm 34:10, NLT

You Lack Nothing

Sometimes we see ourselves at a disadvantage. We think that if we just had more talent, more funds, more connections, or a better personality, we could accomplish greater things. As long as you see yourself as lacking, you’ll make excuses to settle where you are and be less than your best. But the psalmist says God has given you everything you need for your destiny—the wisdom, the confidence, the strength. He’s already lined up the right people, the good breaks, the resources. It’s already there. The question is, Are you discounting what He’s given you because it seems ordinary and you feel common?

Here’s the key: You have to have faith in what God has given you. You don’t have to have great talent, a great education, or great resources to do something great. If you use what you have, God will breathe on it, and you’ll accomplish more than you thought possible. You can have an extraordinary problem, but God can take an ordinary solution and cause you to be victorious. Just keep using what you have, and God will take the ordinary and do something extraordinary.

A Prayer for Today
“Heavenly Father, thank You for the assurance that You have provided me with exactly what I need for the season I am in. I believe that You have equipped and empowered me with every good thing right now, and You will keep providing for me as I need it. I believe You will turn the ordinary into extraordinary. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

In the next few hours, SLEEP will become a luxury, PEACE will become a distant memory, and my house will officially be declared a disaster zone.😭🤣

School is opening!🎒📚

And suddenly, every morning will begin with a BREAKING NEWS ALERT:

🚨 EMERGENCY! “Mummy, my homework book is missing!”
🚨 CRISIS! “My other shoelace has disappeared!”
🚨 NATIONAL DISASTER! “I can’t find my sneakers!”
🚨 CODE RED! “My water bottle is missing!”
🚨 SECURITY BREACH! “Someone touched my lunch!”😂

Then, at 6:47 AM

“MUMMY!!! I NEED A CARDBOARD BOX, GLUE, TWO COLOURED PAPERS, A RULER AND A BOTTLE TOP!”

“For what?”

“My project.”

“Which project?”

“The one I told you about.”

YOU TOLD ME WHEN?!😭😭😭🤣

Then on another good morning:

“Mummy, I forgot to tell you that I’m supposed to wear something special today.”

SPECIAL?! 😭

“Like what?”

“All-white.”

At 6:58 AM.🤦🏾‍♀️🤣

Meanwhile, my Lubona will be reminding me that she will not eat her breakfast because the eggs were not thoroughly scrambled.

Another would be negotiating with a sock.

And someone will inevitably stand at the door and announce:

“I can’t go. I have no pen.”

MY FRIEND, YOU HAD 10 PENS YESTERDAY!😭🤣

Then, just as everyone finally gets into the car.

“MUMMY, I FORGOT MY HOMEWORK!”

🚨🚨🚨ALL UNITS RETURN TO BASE!🚨🚨🚨

We turn around.

Find the homework.

Drive to school.

Arrive at the gate.

Child opens the bag:

“Oh, I brought the wrong textbook.”

😭😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣

And let's not forget the school WhatsApp group:

6:03 PM: “Good evening parents.”
6:04 PM: “Please all the holiday homework must be handed in tomorrow morning.”
6:05 PM: “Ensure the reading books they were given are returned aswell.”

By the end of the first week, I won't know whether I’m a parent, teacher, taxi driver, caterer, accountant, stationery supplier or Minister of Education in my own household.🤣🤣

Dear sleep, it was beautiful while it lasted.
Please don't wait for me. I'll find you during the next school holiday.😭😂

May the strongest parent survive especially the Lusaka based!🎒🤣

TODAY'S DEVOTION

READ, LUKE 17:1-4
He said to His disciples, "Offenses will certainly come."
Luke 17:1, HCSB

RELEASE IT

It's impossible to live with people, and especially your family, and they not hurt your feelings, disappoint you, say things that they shouldn't. If you let the offenses in, let that poison in, live sour and revengeful, holding a grudge, thinking about what they did, you're wasting your emotional energy. That's energy you're not going to have for your dreams, to love your children, to enjoy your spouse.

You have to understand that some people will lash out at you, be disrespectful, and say things that hurt your feelings because they haven't dealt with their own hurts and wounds and are bitter and angry. But what they say or how they treat you doesn't determine who you are. The next time someone offends you, you have to say, "God, I forgive them, and I'm not going to dwell on it. I'm putting all my energies into what's ahead and not into what's behind." If you get into this habit of forgiving quickly, it won't take root. The best thing you can do is release it. Let it go and keep moving forward.

A Prayer For Today
"Heavenly Father, thank You that I can forgive and release others from past offenses and hurts. Thank You that I can drop whatever it is and let it go, knowing You will make things right. I declare that I am leaving any offenses in Your hands and moving forward. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

LET’S TALK ABOUT SU***DE.

September is Su***de Awareness Month.

And perhaps one of the most uncomfortable conversations we need to have is also one of the most important.

Su***de is not simply about someone “wanting to die.”

Sometimes it is about someone wanting the pain to stop.

✅️Someone who feels trapped.
✅️Someone who feels like a burden.
✅️Someone who has lost hope.
✅️Someone who believes everyone would be better without them.

And sometimes, the person struggling doesn't look like they are struggling at all.

They may;

✅️Still go to work.
✅️Still laugh.
✅️Still post on Facebook.
✅️Still attend church.
✅️Still take care of their children.
✅️Still say, “I'm fine.”

So this month, let's stop assuming that people who are hurting will always look broken.

Check on your people.
Ask:
“How are you really doing?”
“You seem a little different lately. Want to talk?”
“Is there anything you're carrying alone?”

And when someone opens up, don't immediately judge, lecture or quote them into silence.

Listen first.

A conversation won't solve every problem.

But sometimes, a compassionate conversation can be the first crack of light in a very dark place.

✅️Let's talk.
✅️Let's listen.
✅️Let's notice.
✅️Let's care.

You don't have to carry everything alone.

TODAY'S DEVOTION

READ, 1 PETER 4:7-11
Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.1 Peter 4:8, NLT

Cover or Expose?

The Scripture says God will not promote gossips, faultfinders, or busybodies. It’s been said that every person carries a bucket of gasoline and a bucket of water. When you hear gossip, rumors, or juicy information about someone, you can either pour gasoline on it and cause the fire to spread or you can pour water on it and help put out the fire. Too many people use their gasoline. But even if it’s true and what they did was wrong, “love covers a person’s faults.”

Love doesn’t expose them, doesn’t tell five friends and put it on social media. The mercy you show others is the mercy that’s going to be shown to you. If you’re harsh, judgmental, and expose people’s failures, magnify their mistakes, that same judgment is going to come back to you. You may know things that are true and could make someone look bad, but that’s a test. Can God trust you to keep it to yourself and not damage their reputation? Or are you going to spread everything you know? Cover their fault and pass the test.

A Prayer for Today
“Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me, forgiving me, and approving me just as I am. Help me to be like You and to do the same with others and seek the best for others. I ask You for the deep love that covers offenses and weaknesses so that I can honor You in everything I do. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
