KWNCH Staff Receive On-Site Training on New Incinerator Operations

Kabwe – The maintenance and environmental health team at Kabwe Women, Newborn and Children’s Hospital [KWNCH] underwent an on-site orientation yesterday on the operation of the hospital’s newly installed incinerator.

The training was conducted by an engineer from the Ministry of Health and focused on the safe and efficient use of the facility. Participants were taken through key procedures, including waste segregation protocols, ignition and combustion processes, temperature monitoring, and routine maintenance requirements. Emphasis was also placed on environmental and occupational safety standards to ensure compliance with national health regulations.

The training concluded with a practical demonstration and a question-and-answer session to address operational concerns raised by the team.

CLINICAL AUDIT ORIENTATION

The hospital yesterday conducted a Clinical Audit which was being led by KWNCH Head, Clinical Care - Dr. Leticia M. Mwiinga, and Provincial Principal Nursing Officer -Ms. Soko.

The first orientation meeting was held successfully, involving Hospital Heads of Department and representatives from the wards.

📻. KABWE — In a concerted effort to enhance public health awareness, Dr. Nombwende and the Ward 3 medical team participated in a radio broadcast at Maranatha Radio on Tuesday. The program aimed to educate the community on Sickle Cell Disease (SCD), a condition that remains poorly understood despite its high incidence in the province.

During the broadcast, the team provided an in-depth explanation of the disease's pathology and genetic foundations, seeking to equip the public with accurate information.
