Kabwata Health Clinic/Youth Friendly Space had an amazing productive educative session, you can learn something from what's shared, or you can learn more if you join them physically

Topic was: HYGIENE

Hygiene refers to conditions and practices that help to maintain health and prevent the spread of diseases." Personal hygiene refers to maintaining the body's cleanliness.

They looked at the IMPORTANCE OF HYGIENE, hygiene is very important in today’s society for both health and social reasons. Keeping our body clean is vital in stopping the development and spread of illness and infection. (shaving off hair everywhere 😂) This simple habit doesn’t just benefit your health – it can help protect those around you too, it also reduces the chance of body odour which can be embarrassing in social situations at work or at school. They went on and looked at the IMPORTANCE OF HYGIENE IN A RELATIONSHIP, My boyfriend has the worst hygiene. His feet smell, sometimes his breath isn't fresh, there are times where I notice his lips get cracked quite often. I love him deeply and have addressed a few of the hygiene issues, but sometimes I don't speak on it because it may hurt his feelings. At times, his hygiene turns me off and I don't want to kiss him. What can I do? I think being direct is always a good thing,". You can go like "Hey, this is what I've noticed, and I'm really worried about you and I care about you. How are you feeling? I've noticed these things and it just doesn't really seem like you. Can we talk about your hygiene?

They lastly looked at menstrual hygiene where “Women and adolescent girls are supposed use clean menstrual management materials to absorb or collect blood that can be changed in privacy as often as necessary for the duration of the menstruation period, using soap and water for washing the body as required, and having access to facilities to dispose of used menstrual management materials"

There sessions are held every Fridays at 14:00hrs at Kabwata health Clinic, Please find your time to attend the session and invite your friends over and get to learn more! See you next week..!! 😁

Kabwata Health Clinic/Youth Friendly Space

We Had a successful productive educative awesome session!

Topic was: GENDER BASED VIOLENCE

Not all forms of Gender based violence leave visible scars and while some forms of Gender based violence have a greater physical or emotional impact than others, this include loss of self-esteem, depression, self-harm, lower educational attainment, increased risk-taking behaviour, physical injury, su***de or even death. Kabwata Youth friendly space hosted the Police, Gender based violence one stop center, Community Development Agency (CDA) and the nurse from the clinic who came through and we had a great informative session discussion they talked about the the types of Gender based violence, cause of Gender based violence, and effects of Gender based violence, we had a really good interactive session.
In Conclusion Gender-based violence (GBV) is a serious violation of human rights and a life-threatening health and protection issue. It is estimated that one in three people will experience sexual or physical violence in their lifetime. During displacement and times of crisis, the threat of GBV significantly increases for women and girls.

The sessions are held every Fridays at 14:00hrs at Kabwata health Clinic, Please find your time to attend the session and invite your friends over and get to learn more! See you next week..!! 😁
