Today, the Cancer Diseases Hospital, in collaboration with the University Teaching Hospital β Eye Hospital, conducted a health education session focused on retinoblastoma, a type of cancer that affects the eye, particularly in children.
The session aimed to raise awareness among patients, caregivers, and members of the public on the early signs and symptoms of retinoblastoma, including unusual white reflections in the eye, vision problems, and eye swelling.
Emphasis was placed on the importance of early detection and seeking medical attention promptly, as this greatly improves treatment outcomes and can save lives.
Our medical staff also shared information on available treatment options and encouraged parents and guardians to prioritize routine eye checks for children.
This collaborative effort reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to strengthening cancer awareness, promoting early diagnosis, and improving patient outcomes through community engagement.
Early detection saves lives. Seek medical attention early.
